Ques

What should I choose between Sydenham PGDBM and K J Somaiya MMS?

● Top Answer By Samiksha Panday on 08 Sept 21

Ans
Having known some students of both these colleges, I can say that both the colleges are really good in terms of infrastructure, culture, and faculties. There are of course some differences too and for that let me share with you a few details. K J Somaiya has better infrastructure and the campus is located at the heart of the city. SIMSREE doesn't have such a big infrastructure. SIMSREE has a better ROI than K J Somaiya.  Placement usually depends on your profile and how you perform in your management education & certainly performance in interviews. Professors, peers both are good in both colleges.  At SIMSREE, the finance course is much better as there are several guest lecturers visiting from JBIMS. Both SIMSREE and K J Somaiya’s program in MMS is Mumbai University affiliated. Its degree is acceptable for several government jobs as well. Categories MMS at SIMSREE MMS at K J Somaiya Course Fee 1.36 lakh 3.24 lakh Highest CTC 20 LPA - Average CTC 12 LPA 8-9 LPA Recruiting Companies American Express, Barclays, ITC, KPMG, etc. Amazon, HUL, Deutsche Bank, Wipro, etc. It must be noted that PGDBM is not offered at SIMSREE rather the institute also offers MMS in affiliation with Mumbai University. Also, while choosing between MMS at Sydenham and K J Somaiya, it is suggested that you talk to alumni of both colleges, which would definitely give you a clear idea.

Ques

How good is SIMSREE K J Somaiya for an MBA in operations? How are the recruiters and what roles are offered?

● Top Answer By Akhil Sawant on 01 Sept 21

Ans
Having to know some people studying at both Simsree and K J Somaiya and here are some things that you should know. They both are equally good. Both the institutes, for their MMS course, teach the same syllabus specified by the University of Mumbai. So, according to the content, there is no difference. This is generally a good thing that you are specializing in something that roughly 4 to 5% of the batch will specialize in.  It is not as difficult for the placement committee to get companies with specific profiles. The institutes have been there for a fairly long time and both have a steady pool of recruiters. Therefore, placements are not very problematic.  Having said that, placements depend on multiple factors, and nothing can be guaranteed. K J Somaiya has more full-time faculty members whereas SIMSREE has more visiting faculty members. But cannot say the same about the operations specialization. Irrespective of where you go, your responsibility is to get better, participate in competitions, do certifications, and improve yourself holistically. The institute cannot impose anything if you have no intention of doing it.

Ques

Why is SIMSREE rated behind KJ Somaiya and Welingkar by some sites?

● Top Answer By Mohini Raman on 09 Apr 21

Ans
SIMSREE is ranked differently on various websites. You do not have to follow these rankings. Both institutions are equally good.  Cut-offs of SIMSREE are greater than K. J. Somaiya Institute of Management.  The infrastructure and facilities of the K. J. Somaiya Institute of Management is better than SIMSREE.  Both the institutes have top students and faculty is also good as JBIMS professors also visit SIMSREE. This makes it better than Somaiya.  The course you are choosing also depends on the college.  One of my friends is studying at SIMSREE and said its MMS program is better than Somaiya. For PG, Somaiya is better because of its diversity. Therefore, college rankings are not always correct. SIMSREE is still better than most of the Management institutes that provide quality education to students.

Which one to choose? XIMB vs Sydenham vs IMT Ghaziabad?

● Top Answer By Priyank Mishra on 14 Mar 22

Ans
XIMB is a better brand among these colleges. It also offers a better average CTC to the students. As per the 2021 placement report, XIMB average package is INR 15.51 LPA.  IMT Ghaziabad is also a reputed B-School and ranks among the top 15 in the country. The average CTC for IMT G is INR 12.4 LPA. If you are interested in a marketing specialization, IMT can be a great option. One of the disadvantages of IMT is its huge batch size of almost around 700.  Sydenham offers a good ROI. As you can complete an MBA within 5 lakhs and the average CTC offered to students is around INR 10 LPA. But it’s difficult to get Sydenham, as the number of seats is limited for students without a Maharashtra domicile.  Between XIMB and IMT, you can choose the former due to the lower batch strength and better average CTC.

Which MBA degrees do JBIMS and SIMSREE offer?

● Top Answer By Rohan Sule on 05 Jul 21

Ans
JBIMS and SIMSREE are two excellent institutes, which are coming under Mumbai University. Both of the institutes offer management courses with great placement and infrastructure. The points below give the key points of difference between the two institutes, stating the type of MBA degrees they offer. JBIMS provides only MS degree to students, whereas SIMSREE provide both MS and PGD-BM degrees. Although these degrees have certain differences in curriculum, all of them are equivalent to an MBA. Both institutes fall under Mumbai University and so, they follow the same course structure. JBIMS accepts admission through CAT and MH-CET. But, SIMSREE offers a wider range of opportunities by allowing admission through CAT, CMAT, ATMA, and MH-CET. None of the two colleges conduct any GR or PI rounds in their admission process. These are the main highlights regarding the courses offered by JBIMS and SIMSREE, along with their modes of admission.

Which is the best college between SIMSREE, IBS Hyderabad, GIM and SIBM Bangalore?

● Top Answer By Yaseer Das on 06 Mar 23

Ans
It is recommended that you keep SIMSREE and GIM at the top of your list of colleges to consider. Both of these colleges have a strong reputation and are well known for providing quality education in the field of management. While IBS Hyderabad may also be worth considering, it is important to keep in mind that each college has its own strengths and weaknesses. It may be more suitable for some students based on their individual needs and goals, while it may not be the best fit for others. On the other hand, SIBM Bangalore should not be included in your list of colleges to compare. There may be various reasons why this college is not as highly ranked as the other colleges mentioned, and it may not provide the same level of education and resources as the other colleges. In conclusion, it is important to carefully consider all factors and make an informed decision based on your individual needs and goals. Take the time to research each college and weigh the pros and cons to determine the best fit for you.
