Silicon Institute of Technology (commonly known as SIT) is an Engineering and Technology institute established in 2000–01 in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India. In 2009–10, a second campus was opened in Sambalpur, Odisha.

Silicon Institute of Technology offers various courses at UG and PG level focusing on the areas of Engineering and Computer Applications. The courses offered are B.Tech and B.Tech (lateral) at undergraduate level, and M.Tech, MCA and M.Sc at postgraduate level.

Eligible candidates are hereby informed that they will have to appear in JEE Mains and OJEE in order to get admission in B.tech and b.tech (Lateral) respectively. Admission in M.tech is done on the basis of marks obtained in GATE and PGAT. The admission process for MCA will be done on rank secured in OJEE. Admission to the M.Sc is done on the basis of merit.

Silicon Institute of Technology Admission Process 2023

Admissions to the Silicon Institute of Technology are done through the counseling conducted by the Odisha Government based on the entrance examinations merits.
Admissions for the first year B.Tech. courses are carried out based on the JEE Main (Joint Entrance Examination)
Students are admitted based on the marks they secure in this exam. Similarly, second-year or lateral entry students are admitted based on the marks they secure in OJEE (Odisha Joint Entrance Examination).
The admission of MCA students is done through counseling based on PGAT and GATE scores.

Silicon Institute of Technology B.Tech and B.Tech (Lateral Entry) Admission 2023

At undergraduate level, the college also offers Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) and B.Tech (Lateral) in various specializations such as Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Applied Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering, Electronics and Communications Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering to the aspiring candidates who want to pursue their career in the field of Engineering. The course is offered for four years and three years respectively. The number of seats depend upon the nature of specializations as opted by the candidates.

Admission in B.Tech is done on the basis of marks obtained in Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main) conducted by CENTRAL BOARD OF SECONDARY EDUCATION (CBSE). Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria will only be entertained by the college. However, the candidates who are looking forward to appear in JEE Mains may visit the official website.

Candidates seeking admission in B.Tech (Lateral) will have to appear in Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) conducted by the State Government of Odisha. Interested candidates may visit the official website.

Silicon Institute of Technology M.Tech Admission 2023

At postgraduate level, the college offers Master of Technology (M.Tech) in various specializations such as Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communications Engineering and Electrical and Electronics Engineering (Power System Engineering). The Duration period is two years and intake capacity is 18 for each specialization.

In order to seek admission in M.Tech eligible candidates will have to appear in Graduate Aptitude Test In Engineering (GATE). Only appearing will not do, but scoring at least cut-off marks will fetch you more. Candidates who are willing to appear in GATE may visit the official website

Eligible candidates can also appear in Odisha Post Graduate Joint Entrance Exam (PGAT) which is conducted by the State Government of Odisha.

Silicon Institute of Technology MCA & M.Sc Admission 2023

Apart from other courses, the college also offers Master of Computer Applications which specializes in Computer Applications and M.Sc in Data Science. The course is offered for a duration period of two years. The total number of seats available for the admission process is 60.

Candidates who have successfully completed their Graduation Degree in Computer Applications or in Science are eligible to apply for this course. However, admission will be given to those who have secured a rank in Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) conducted by the State Government of Odisha. Admission to the M.Sc program is purely done on the basis of merit.

My Views on Silicon

Remarks:

I had appeared for the JEE Exam, and by JOSAA/OJEE counseling I became a part of Silicon. I found the application form with the help of Collegedunia and I am proud to say that Collegedunia is helping a lot of students to get their desired college. our college provides TFW facilities like a reservation type of thing which means the fess of the TFW students is lesser than normal students. Yes, the improvement is that some seats should be increased for other branches like ECE, EIE, and EEE.

Which one would be a better choice for pursuing B.Tech both institute wise as well as placement wise University Institute of Technology Burdwan CSE or Silicon Institute of Technology CSE ?

UIT Burdwan is not a good choice when compared to Silicon Institute of Technology. You should avoid going there. The following are the points to be considered.

UIT Burdwan is Government funded and affiliated with Burdwan University. But the intake of 60 undergraduate students is low.
It accepts only WBJEE ranks for admission.
The placement in UIT Burdwan is also poor. It offers limited internship opportunities for the students.
A few of the top recruiters in CSE include TCS, Infotech, Infosys, IBM, L&T, and more.

UIT Burdwan is not the best place to get admission. The curriculum is old, so college life seems like a time killer. However, if inclined towards CSE or IT branch, look for colleges in Bangalore. It is the Silicon Valley of India and a hub for major IT companies.

For CSE, Silicon Institute of Technology is the best option among these. It offers good academics in the software domain. It has a good placement record, especially for branches like CSE, and ECE. TCS, Wipro, Infosys, and Byju’s are some of the major recruiters that take part in Silicon Institute of Technology placements. As per the placement highlights, the average CTC for the CSE branch is around INR 3.4 LPA.

LNCT is one of Madhya Pradesh's best private institutes. I have a few friends from the institute and according to them, the CSE course offered is great.

The well-trained faculty members strive to provide students with a high-quality education. The institute is synonymous with quality because of its world-class facilities, excellent infrastructure, well-equipped laboratories and libraries, and student-friendly campus.

The training and placement cell works closely with students and the administration to assist them to seek jobs in the companies of their preference. WIPRO, Cognizant, Amdocs, Infosys, and many others are among the major league companies. According to the recent placement highlights the average CTC offered at LNCT Bhopal is around 3-8 LPA.

With good facilities and decent placement records, LNCT Bhopal is definitely a good choice for doing your CSE degree.
