PSIT Kanpur is among the top private engineering institutes in Kanpur. It is especially good for CS. The teaching methodology used is mostly theory oriented. There is less scope for exploring practical hands-on learning.  Companies such as Capgemini, Tech Mahindra, Infosys, TCS, etc. visit PSIT placements. Students usually receive an average CTC of around INR 5-6 LPA.  PSIT has strict rules in place regarding attendance. Students are required to maintain at least 90% attendance.

If you want to pursue B.Tech in CSE then you can join this college as it is one of the best colleges in the Kanpur and Lucknow region. If you want to go for core branches like mechanical, civil, electrical then it is suggested not to join this. There are almost no placements in core branches here every year, so the students are bound to sit for recruitment drives of IT companies. The laboratories in the department of Core branches are not properly equipped. The lab instructor/assistant in the laboratory does not allow students to touch any equipment inside the laboratory. The environment of the classrooms is quite competitive and challenging not only for academics but also for extracurricular activities. There are some strict policies implemented by the authorities in regards to the attendance of the students. One of my friends availed hostel at PSIT Kanpur. Let me share whatever I got to know from him about the hostels. The hostel in PSIT Kanpur offers 4 kinds of accommodation for the students. It includes - Double Sharing AC, Double Sharing Non AC, Triple Sharing AC, and Triple Sharing Non AC. The best part is the centralized cooling AC which keeps the entire hostel cool. The rooms also have fans included which can’t be used while the AC is on. You can operate one of them at a given time. A desk and a cupboard are provided per occupant. The bed also has additional storage for the shoes and slippers. Two adjacent rooms are connected by a well-spaced and big enough balcony with cloth lines to dry the clothes. Services such as laundry are provided within the hostel premises with a fixed amount of clothing for tenure. Although Wi-Fi is not available so you have to bring a LAN wire to access the hostel internet. The first-year hostel is a whole separate building at a distance from the senior year hostels. It also has a separate mess which has a capacity of 1300+ students or more. The washrooms are cleaned and well maintained. The warden and the night takers are both well respected and loved among the students. You also get two elevator services working 24*7. It can be used by anyone and has a backup facility if there’s any power failure. Thus, the hostel is well equipped for the students.

If you have a GATE Scorecard, you will be able to secure a place on the PSIT for mechanical engineering. This is because of the availability of the one Interview Round. But try applying online or calling them for any opening if you are a graduate. They will inform you and organize an interview if they find you relevant. Whether you will be appointed as a faculty or laboratory assistant according to your qualification. You will continue to work for approximately 2 years as Lab Assistant. In terms of actual placement at the campus, top recruitment firms like Infosys, Capgemini, TCS, Tech Mahindra, and Wipro visit the campus. Students are given leading jobs such as assistant system engineer, software developer, and business analyst. The top salary package provided is 26 LPA and the lowest pay package is 3 LPA. The average package available is 3.6 LPA. In order to better understand the concept, PSIT offers E-classrooms, laboratories, workshops, and training. It focuses not only on teaching academic information but also on implementing it in practice, and hence their practicals are given some importance compared to lectures.

Frankly, I do not carry too much information on how PSIT is, but I can assure you about Chandigarh University as it is best as an institute for CSE. Being a student there, my brother has often shared great facts about the university: It has a well-established and very well-maintained infrastructure. The faculty is greatly experienced. The placement drive includes and welcomes 200 companies each year. Placement training is provided and is a must for the candidates. In-startups are available for candidates who have a knack for business. Most of the start-ups that you may hear about surprisingly are from Chandigarh University. Attending classes regularly is mandatory and the quality of education is excellent. The authorities are strict about your attendance record, so make sure you are constantly attending them.
