Read Full ReviewPSIT Kanpur is among the top private engineering institutes in Kanpur. It is especially good for CS. The teaching methodology used is mostly theory oriented. There is less scope for exploring practical hands-on learning.
Companies such as Capgemini, Tech Mahindra, Infosys, TCS, etc. visit PSIT placements. Students usually receive an average CTC of around INR 5-6 LPA.
PSIT has strict rules in place regarding attendance. Students are required to maintain at least 90% attendance.
Getting admission to PSIT Kanpur, with a UPTU score of 208 will be difficult, especially in popular branches. You can opt for the branch you are getting admission to and apply for branch change in the second year.
The college also offers direct admission based on merit. You can apply for the direct admission option as well.
You can apply for PSIT Kanpur through UPTU counseling. Keep PSIT as your first choice. PSIT also offers a direct admission option. You can choose the direct admission procedure if you aren’t getting the college through counseling. You need to have at least 60% or above in 10+2 in order to get admission.
The highest CTC of an MBA graduate from PSIT Kanpur is INR 29 LPA. The placement rate for MBA is around 90%. Major recruiters such as Amazon, Capgemini, Flipkart, etc. visit PSIT Kanpur placements. Students are offered job roles in different management sectors such as Finance, HR, and Marketing.
PSIT Kanpur is a good option for a BTech in CSE/IT. It is a reputed private engineering institute in the region with a good placement record. According to the recent highlights of PSIT Kanpur placements, 80% of students from CSE get placed each year. The highest CTC offered for the branch is around INR 21 LPA. IBM, Infosys, TCS, etc. are the major recruiters that take part in the placement drive.
For CSE, PSIT Kanpur is the better option.
Flexible academic structure, good facilities, and placements are some of the reasons that put PSIT ahead of MPEC.
If you want to pursue B.Tech in CSE then you can join this college as it is one of the best colleges in the Kanpur and Lucknow region. If you want to go for core branches like mechanical, civil, electrical then it is suggested not to join this. There are almost no placements in core branches here every year, so the students are bound to sit for recruitment drives of IT companies.

There is also the option of a Bachelor of Science course offered at PSIT Kanpur with a good subject like applied geology, mathematics, chemistry. After the completion of the B.Sc. degree, the students can give the IIT JAM examination to go for MSc from IITs and NITs.
One of my friends availed hostel at PSIT Kanpur. Let me share whatever I got to know from him about the hostels.
You also get two elevator services working 24*7. It can be used by anyone and has a backup facility if there’s any power failure. Thus, the hostel is well equipped for the students.
As far as these two colleges are concerned, both are equally good in their respective locations. Lucknow is known as the capital city which will come with its own set of benefits. But, if you want to directly compare, my vote would go for PSIT Kanpur as it is especially good for computer science engineering.
Moreover, PSIT is also a private college. This will have its benefits including better placements for CS and other branches as well as compared to other institutes that are not based on NCRs. PSIT has also become one of the fastest-growing institutes in North India.
PSIT is also known for its discipline, faculty, and facilities which, are the best here as compared to BBD. However, BBD is less strict than PSIT so you can expect a little more personal growth at this college than the other one.
Finally, it all boils down to what you like. You can also choose the college which is nearer to you.
In my opinion, IMS Ghaziabad is a much better option than PSIT Kanpur mainly because of its NCR location. When choosing a college, a factor of utmost importance is where the college is situated because your location will impact your college life largely. Opting for a college situated in NCR is a boon as it will give you a lot of exposure to activities and education in general. You get more exposure to industries and startups and thus getting internships is a lot easier. One more advantage is that you can avail many good coaching facilities in the NCR location which may not be possible in a city like Kanpur.
The campus life is less strict at IMS Ghaziabad than at PSIT and there are no strict attendance rules. The fees and value of a degree are almost similar in both colleges but you can enjoy your life much better at NCR colleges. I am strongly against you joining PSIT Kanpur because
Despite it all, PSIT Kanpur has a 100% placement percentage and will help you get places in CS. Weigh your options and choose wisely.
