The notice was released on November 7. A total number of 29 vacant seats has been announced on the official website combining all the M.Tech courses. Kalyani Government Engineering College is an affiliated college under Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology which is also known as West Bengal University of Technology.

Kalyani College offers a 2-year M.Tech course in 5 different streams. Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics and Communication Engineering Production Engineering
The admission process happens centrally through West Bengal University of Technology (WBUT).
Candidates seeking admission in Kalyani College must appear in PGET (post graduate entrance test) conducted by WBUT. The admissions are offered on the basis of merit.
After the admission if any vacant seats available the college conducts a decentralized counseling to fill the vacant seats. During this session eligible candidates can directly apply to the college.

Kalyani Government Engineering College M.Tech Eligibility Criteria

PGET is a state level entrance test conducted by West Bengal University of Technology. Candidates need to clear this test to apply for Kalyani College Course. The eligibility criteria for PGET are as follows:

AICTE approved Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Technology/Pharmacy/Architecture.
Candidates in the final year of Bachelor’s degree are also eligible. Candidates in final year will be granted provisional admission and will have to submit their final mark sheet before a prescribed deadline
The sponsored candidates must have one-year experience in Polytechnic/Engineering College/ Industry in addition to the eligibility for PGET-2020. A certificate of sponsorship from the present employer must also be submitted.
Reservation for SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B/PwD will be based on government rules.
Candidates with valid GATE score will be given preference.

Kalyani Government Engineering College M.Tech Admission Guidelines

The admissions are centralized. Candidates seeking admission need to apply for the entrance exam for their respective course on the official website of west Bengal University of Technology.
Candidates need to fill the application form and submit online along with the required documents.
Candidates will need to pay the application fee of 600/- for open category and 300/- for reserved category.
After completing the form submission process online candidates take a print of the form and payment receipt. The hard copy of the form is to be submitted with the candidate's signature and documents.
The registration for PGET 2020 has been closed. The notice for batch 2021 will be out next year on the website.

Application Procedure

To apply for PGET, visit https://makautwb.ac.in/
Register using email ID.
Fill the application form. Candidate’s Name, Gender, Date of Birth, Category, Written Test Centre, Educational Qualification, E-mail Id, Mobile Number, Address, Declaration, etc. Will be required in the application form.
Photograph, Signature and qualification related documents are required with the form.
After the submission of the application form, pay the application fee.
Candidates belonging to reserved categories must also submit the relevant certificates. Sponsored candidates must submit a letter of sponsorship from their Employer.
Candidates need to make a choice regarding course and college at the time of registration.
Candidates who qualify the entrance exam and have fulfilled the merit cutoff of the chosen college will be called for the counseling session.

If you want to work in PSUs or Govt. sectors, it’s better to not choose Production Engineering as there are fewer recruiters. Jadavpur is the best college you can get through WBJEE. If you choose Production or Power in JU, you will have good on-campus job opportunities. Production Engineering is a branch of Mechanical Engineering itself. The syllabus will be more or less the same. Mechanical at Kalyani University will be slightly better than Jalpaiguri. You may not get lucrative job packages at on-campus placement from Kalyani University but in the long run, you will have a much better hold with your Mechanical degree. You can expect well-paid jobs in the future. Your future will depend on the branch you are choosing so choose according to your interest. All these Universities will offer you enough opportunities and resources to prosper. It’s up to you to use that well.

Because CU's engineering programs are newer, they may have certain disadvantages for several fields. You may claim that you are unconcerned about everything other than your academics, but once you enroll in a college, you will realize how vital everything is. Kalyani College does have a far larger student body than CU, you will have a diverse group of students in your batch. Also remember, that usually everyone despises their own university no matter how good or bad it in reality is. You surely would not want a gloomy college experience.
