NEET UG 2024 will be held on May 5, 2024, for admission to MBBS at SNMC Agra. NEET PG 2024 will be held on March 3, 2024, for admission to MD/ MS at SNMC Agra.


The Sarojini Naidu Medical College (SNMC)  was established in the year 1854 and is one of the oldest medical colleges in India. SNMC is accredited from the Medical Council of India (MCI), Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India and is affiliated to the Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar University.

  • For its flagship MBBS degree, each year, a total of 123 students are enrolled in SNMC College.
  • SNMC also offers a Diploma Course in 11 specialisations and post graduate courses such as MD in 13 specialisations and MS in 9 specialisations.
  • For MBBS admissions candidates are required to have a valid NEET UG score.
  • MD and MS admissions will be granted on the basis of NEET PG Entrance Exam.

SNMC MBBS Admissions 2023

SNMC’s flagship course, MBBS program is a four and a half year long program which is to be followed by a mandatory one year of internship.

The MBBS is divided into three phrases, namely:

  1. Pre-Clinical Phase: The duration is of one year wherein the students are taught subjects of Anatomy, Physiology and Biochemistry.
  2. Para-Clinical Phase: This phase lasts one and half years and focuses on subjects of Pathology, Microbiology, Pharmacology, Forensic Medicine & Toxicology and Social & Preventive Medicine/Community Medicine etc.
  3. Clinical Phase: The final phase of the MBBS lasts for two years where subjects like Orthopaedics, Ophthalmology, E.N.T., Community Medicine, Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics & Gynaecology and Paediatrics are taught.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The candidates must have passed 10+2 (PCB) from a recognised board of education with minimum 50% for; there is a 10% waiver for SC/ST/OBC i.e min 40%
  • The candidate must be a minimum of 17 years of age at the time of admissions. The upper limit, under the All India Quota is 25 years. However, there is a relaxation of 5 years for SC, ST and OBC candidates
  • The candidate must be an Indian citizen or an Overseas citizen of India

Selection Criteria

  • The admission to the MBBS course of SNMC is merit based on the basis of the marks secured in the NEET entrance exams.
  • Candidates who clear the institute cut offs are invited for admissions
  • Once invited for admissions, candidates are required to attend counselling and book seats.

The institute Cut-off is the minimum marks a candidate needs to score, as prescribed by the selection board for the admission. A merit list will then be designed on the basis of these Cut-off scores.

Aspirants need to clear the Cut-off for various courses to be eligible for the admission process. For the referance of aspirants, previous year cut off are mentioned below:

SNMC Diploma Admissions 2023

SNMC also gives the option of doing a 2-year Diploma. The diploma is available in 11 different specialisations.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The candidates must have passed 10+2 (PCB) from a recognised board of education with minimum 50% for & a minimum of 40% for SC/ST/OBC

SNMC MD and MS Admissions 2023

The Post Graduate courses available at SNMC include:

  1. Doctor of Medicine or MD: This is a 3 year course. At SNMC, the course is available with 13 different specialisations which give the candidates a plethora of options to choose from.
  2. Master of Surgery or MS: This is also a 3-year course. The Sarojini Naidu Medical College gives the students an option of 9 courses to choose from when approaching their post graduations.

Eligibility Criteria

  • All candidates must have a graduated with an MBBS
  • The candidate must have completed a one internship
  • All candidates must have a valid NEET-PG Scorecard

Selection Criteria

Admissions are offered to those candidates who clear the eligibility and have scored above the institute NEET-UG cut off marks. The institute will release the cutoff for admission, the cutoff for previous year is shown below:

How to Apply for SNMC?

Eligible candidates need to give the NEET-UG & NEET-PG entrance exam and clear cut offs. All the students need to attend the counselling procedure (details mentioned below)

Counselling Procedure for AIQ Quota.

All the candidates applying for Medical Colleges in Uttar Pradesh must have to register themselves for the NEET counselling 2021. It is conducted in online mode in two rounds:

  1. Candidate Registration: Registration on the official website.
  2. Round 1 Choice Filling and Locking: Candidates have to choose the preferred courses and colleges and lock-in the preferences in the online portal.
  3. Round 1 Seat Allotment Result: On the basis of available vacancies and candidate’s choices, his/her seat allotment will be published online
  4. Reporting to college: Candidates who are allotted seats in the first round, are required to either report to the allotted college and complete the admission formalities or reject the allotted seat
  5. Round 2 : All the candidates who could not register in round 1, a second round of choice filling, locking and seat allotment is conducted

Documents Required

Once the candidates clear all the procedures and approach the college to secure their seats, certain legal procedures need to be taken care of by the Institute. In order to complete the admission process, the candidates are required to keep a few documents are required to be submitted at the time of admissions:

For UG Candidates

  1. Admit Card
  2. Scorecard or Rank Letter
  3. Class 10 mark sheet and certificate (also used for DOB verification)
  4. Class 12 mark sheet and certificate
  5. Valid Photo ID proof (Aadhar/PAN Card/Driving License/Passport)
  6. Eight passport size photographs
  7. Provisional Allotment Letter
  8. Caste / PwD Certificate (if applicable)

For PG Candidates

  1. MBBS Certificate and 3rd Part II mark sheet
  2. Medical Registration Certificate
  3. Internship Completion Certificate
  4. Valid Photo ID proof (a Certificate with an attested photo from Head of Institution last studied/Copy of Passport/Aadhar Card/PAN Card/Driving License)
  5. Birth Certificate for proof of age (if DOB is not mentioned in class 10 mark sheet/ certificate)
  6. NEET Score Card
  7. Copy of Online Counselling Registration Certificate
  8. Passport size Photographs 8 copies
  9. Sponsorship Certificate from State Govt. (If applicable)

NEIGRIHMS Shillong is the better choice. In fact, it is considered among the top five institutes of excellence. It is a well-resourced premium central Govt. institute. While SNMC Agra is an old state medical college with limited resources. 

However, you should keep in mind that, NEIGRIHMS is located in a remote corner of the country. Whereas, SNMC is located in central India. At NEIGRIHMS, you will get better quality education. But at SNMC, you will get more time to prepare for postgraduate and better working options. 

If you are not from northeast, you can choose SNMC for UG and prepare for better options in PG.

The department of Radiotherapy at Sarojini Naidu Medical College, Agra doesn’t have any internship listed. Some of the major research areas for the department are - 

  • Study with Rhenium labeling of biological molecules for use in animal cancer models.
  • Development of Radio immunotherapy as a new modality for the treatment of cancer. 

If you are interested, you can mail the department professor regarding any internship opportunities. 

Also, you can easily look for internship options using job portals like LinkedIn or Indeed. Various colleges also offer internships in Radiotherapy.
