Moti Lal Nehru Medical College was established by first President of India, Dr. Rajendra Prasad, in the year 1961. The college is affiliated to Chhatrapati Sahu Ji Maharaj University, Kanpur and recognized by Medical Council of India. The college offers Bachelor, Master and Diploma Courses in various specialities

  • The college is associated with Swaroop Rani Nehru Hospital, Sarojini Naidu Children Hospital and Kamla Nehru Memorial Hospital
  • The college enrolls 100 students in MBBS annually. Admission to MBBS at Moti Lal Nehru Medical College is based on NEET UG.
  • The Government of India has decided to upgrade the institute on lines of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences as part of phase-3 of Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY) whereby the Central Government will bear 80% of the cost of up gradation and 20% cost will be borne by State Government.

Extra-Curricular:

  • NCC- NCC of the college has 200 cadets. 70 cadets of M.B.B.S. students have recently participated in regular Army attachment camp at Military Hospital, Allahabad. They have undergone army training, firing and other activities during the camps. The cadets also conducted tree plantation during the camp. Sheodeo Rajak among the boys and Charubala Sharma among the girls were adjudged the best cadets in the camp
  • NSS- Volunteers of NSS visit the slum areas regularly and take part in medical checkups and in health education activities in the community regarding various issues of importance for the health of the community and family. They regularly take part in the World Health day celebrations, World AIDS day celebrations, poster competitions, rallies on issues of social importance
