One of my sisters is a part of Lady Hardinge College and her experience at the college has been amazing.

The college has a gigantic auditorium and administrative block, other than which there are no efficient places to talk about.

You will enjoy several outings during your stay at the college because the campus lacks a good food joint. You can also order food from nearby restaurants in Paharganj or Connaught Place. The food is nominally available in the food mess at the hostel which is not tasty.

The major downside is the infrastructure it has, as opposed to other institutes such as AIIMS, MAMC, or UCMS. The gymnasium at the college is not very well equipped. However, as per what my cousin states, it is a decent university when talking academically.

Lady Hardinge Medical College is better. It is counted among the best medical colleges in the region. The teaching faculties are excellent. College seniors are supportive, they will help you provide guidance. The coursework includes weekly examinations, so students need to study regularly. This makes sure that the coursework is completed on time.

Hardinge has many societies that you can be a part of and find similar-minded people. The sports facilities and extracurricular activities offered are good as well.

Just like every other college, the Lady Hardinge has some pros and cons. One of my friends studied there, and here are some of the things she mentioned about the institution.

To start with the pros, the advantages of Lady Hardinge Medical Colleges are:

  • The ranking of Lady Hardinge Medical College is among the Top 5 Best Medical Colleges of India which means it stands the best among all the factors.
  • The faculty at Lady Hardinge College is very kind, friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and experienced.
  • The campus has a diverse culture and being on the list of Top 5 institutes, it provides a competitive environment.
  • Transportation is easily available as the campus is located near the railway station and is opposite the bus station.
  • The location is prime and one can easily go shopping as the campus is near Janpath. Just stepping out of the college lands a student in Connaught Place (C.P.).

The cons of studying at Lady Hardinge Colleges are:

  • No Wi-Fi facility is available.
  • The hostels are not up to the mark and the food is below average.

These were the pros and cons of studying at Lady Hardinge college and one should opt for the college after keeping this all in mind.

No, there’s nothing known as a dress code in the Lady Hardinge Medical College as there is nothing that should be followed if it comes to dress code.

This doesn’t mean that a student can dress up the way she wants to. However, it’s necessary to maintain decorum and dignity, and therefore, it’s required by a student to be dressed up neat, clean, and decently.

Being a professional college, the college doesn’t encourage messy looks or shabby clothes to be worn on the college’s campus.

In the initial/first years, the girls are retained from wearing things like slippers/chappals, dresses, shorts, or sleeveless tops. But, this rule exists only for the first-year students, and from the senior years, the students can wear whatever they want to.

One of my friends studied at Lady Hardinge Medical College. According to her, the experience in the Lady Hardinge Medical College can be depicted as such:

  • First Year- The experience at the first year was not up to the mark as the syllabus, college and the city were not soothing. The only thing to like was the city Delhi and its name.
  • Second Year- You can hang out more in the city and would be used to everything that happens in the college.
  • Third Year- The pressure in the third year is less than that of the previous two years and the college gives a home-like feeling.
  • Fourth Year- You will start having an emotional connection with the college and start to regret thinking about the time you will leave the campus.

Internship -

  • The best part of college life is the time one spends during the internship.
  • Staying at the hospital and campus the whole year and having outside food is the best that one can experience.

There are certain advantages of studying in Lady Hardinge College too. Being an all-girls college, it helps girls to feel comfortable, safe, and independent at any time be it 3 am. The location is just the best and has the best food outlets.

The infrastructure is good. However, the new hostel is better. The auditorium is the best place on the campus. The institute provides good academics and has all the facilities available including the labs, libraries, dissection halls, LT’s, etc.

There should be nothing in particular that one needs to know to enter the Lady Hardinge college as the only thing one needs to carry is the confidence and the passion to learn and get involved in the new things.

  • Always remember that anything in excess is bad and one must always keep a balance of everything.
  • No dress code is followed in the college.
  • No kind of ragging takes place but still one should have good relations maintained with the students of the particular batch and one year senior to avoid any future problems.
  • The campus is not that big but is under construction and is beautiful and admirable.
  • There is no café or library available on the campus but it is present near the hostel and is a good place.

Therefore, a student should keep these things in mind before going to Lady Hardinge College to live a hassle-free college life.

No, the institutes do not have separate examinations. Which is to say, the admissions can be availed under 2 categories:

  1. 15% National Quota
  2. 85% State Quota

Now, you also have to go through AIPMT, wherein the seats are assigned to students based upon the rank they have secured, under the 1st category nonetheless.

When talking about the applicants who qualify for the Delhi State Quota, there is a provision of a separate state-wise ranking. You are required to fill a separate form based upon the seats assigned, which most likely is 85% as the state quota.

Only girls can take admission at Lady Hardinge Medical College. For MBBS, there are two ways through a single exam for getting into LHMC.

You have to clear the All India Pre-Medical Test (AIPMT), for admissions at Lady Hardinge Medical College. There are 15% All India Quota. So, you need to have a good percentile or score, in order to be eligible.

However, if you have a Delhi domicile, then a slightly lower score than above may suffice to get into Lady Hardinge Medical College.
