Muzaffarpur Institute of Technology (MIT), Muzaffarpur is a premier institution of eastern India for technical education. It is under administrative control of department of science and technology and wholly funded by Govt. of Bihar. Established in 1954, MIT is one of the oldest technical institute in India. The foundation stone was laid by the first prime minister of India, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru.

The college is affiliated to Aryabhatta Knowledge University, Patna. The college offers B.Tech at undergraduate level to the aspiring candidates who want to take up Engineering as their career.

Admission in B.Tech is done on the basis of marks obtained in Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination (BCECE) conducted by Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board.
