IMH Pusa Placements:

Students get placed as management trainees for brands like Taj, ITC, Hilton, etc. The average salary package offered for this position is INR 18,000 - INR 22,000.

You won’t know your score in the NCHMCT JEE entrance. Whether or not you get admission at IHM Pusa depends on your rank and category.

In 2021, the required cutoff for the general category students was 203 (3rd round). Although the cutoff varies each year, you should try to rank around AIR 200-400, to be safe. Students from the reserved category have a lower cutoff.

Which is better, IHM Mumbai or IHM Pusa?

Both IHM Mumbai and IHM Pusa are reputed institutes for hotel management. The comparison between these two institutes seems to have no end. No matter which institute you join, you will learn to love it. Both offer decent academics. India Today ranked IHM Pusa and IHM Mumbai 1st and 3rd for Hotel Management respectively.

When you are choosing one of these two make sure you consider the factors like hostel, city, food, distance from your home. Talk to the current students and go for the culture that attracts you more.

I got AIR 105 in NCHMCT. I prefer IHM Bangalore over Pusa, which one do you think is better and why? Would it be a mistake to choose the former?

Some of my friends attended IHM Pusa. Here are their insides regarding the hostel facilities. The hostel rooms have typical amenities like any other Govt. hostel. The rooms have shared accommodation. Each room has 3 study tables, 3 almirahs, 3 single beds, and one fan. The hostels have a lounge area too. For the girls' hostel, the lounge area has a tv. The boys’ hostel has additional gym equipment.

Life at IHM Pusa is quite good.

It is a prestigious institute that strictly adheres to industry standards in terms of creativity, discipline, and exposure.
The campus is surrounded by lush green covers of Ridge forest and IARI on either side.
The campus has a tennis court, two badminton courts, basketball, volleyball, table tennis, and a gymnasium too.
The hostels are well-maintained. It has a library too.
The faculties are cooperative. Many of the faculty members also stay on campus.
There are several kitchens for degree students - Advanced Training Kitchen, Regional Training Kitchen, Basic Training Kitchen, Quality Food Kitchen.
There is a training restaurant called ‘The Scholar’.
The college building has an entire floor dedicated to confectionery and bakery.
The placement opportunities offered here are arguably the best in the country.
Students get great exposure as it is located close to the ministry of tourism. Students of the institute get to participate in all the events conducted by the ministry.
Students from IHM Pusa have represented India in World Skills Olympics.

If you are preparing for NCHMCT 2022, try to get your hands on the previous year question papers. These will help you get an idea about the question pattern. The question paper is usually quite easy. Here are some of the reference books that you can use for your preparation.

Quantitative Aptitude by RS Aggarwal

For current affairs, mostly question papers from previous years are repeated. You can also study hotel magazines to stay updated.

My friend chose Haldia Institute of Technology over IHM Pusa because of its popularity. Choosing a college totally depends on you and by far my friend hadn’t regretted choosing it

If the food, the serving technique, and the interaction with the guests seem attractive to you then without any hesitation choose IHM Pusa.

Moreover, IHM Pusa is the best for hotel management but on the other hand, Haldia Institute of Technology is prominent for CSE.

Make a choice wisely and with all your interest so that you don’t regret it later.

My IHM rank is 503. I have been allotted IHM Mumbai. Will I be able to get IHM Pusa in the second round or the spot counselling round?

It depends on your category. Since you have gotten IHM Mumbai with a rank of 503, it’s safe to assume you are from the general category. So, there are good chances that you will get IHM Pusa. You should wait till the spot round.

Otherwise, IHM Mumbai is a decent alternative. You will get to learn a lot there.

You will need to take NCHMCT JEE in order to get admission at IHM Pusa. It is the IHM joint entrance examination conducted by the National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology.

The examination duration is 3 hours. It consists of 200 MCQs and tests students based on their English, Reasoning, Maths, Scientific Aptitude, Service Aptitude, GK, and Current Affairs.
