St. Xavier’s College, Ahmedabad is an institute of upper education established in 1955. The College is managed by the Gujarat Province of Society of Jesus and is affiliated to Gujarat University.
The college is accredited with A grade by NAAC and has been placed at 96 rank in top India colleges as per NIRF 2023.

Students who have passed HSC Examination from Gujarat Board or any other equivalent exam are eligible to apply for UG courses and students who have passed BA or B.Sc from Gujarat University or any other University are eligible to apply for PG admissions. Library:
The library has a vast digital collection of books, journals, databases, audio-visual aids, CDs, DVDs, e-books, project reports, course material, classics, and bound volumes of earlier examination papers. The timing of the library is from 9:30 am to 5.30 pm.
Plant Tissue Culture Lab:
The Plant Tissue Culture Lab (PTCL) was set up in 2013 to train Bioscience students in the nuances of Plant Tissue Culture with an extension of developing entrepreneurial skills. The lab also organizes workshops and training for neighbouring college and school students.
Supercomputer lab:
It was set up to house a computer with a high computing facility which was procured with DST funding. There are many publications and international collaborations that have been established based on this new laboratory.
Xavier Industrial Chemistry Unit:
The unit is engaged in producing colorful candles, detergents, and other cleaning agents as an outcome of their classroom learning. The unit also conducts training programs for students of other colleges.
Xavier Laboratory for Research and Development (XLRD):
The laboratory has many equipment available for the purpose of research such as Electrophoretic system, Blotting systems, Refrigerated centrifuges, High volume Centrifuges, High-Performance Thin Layer Chromatography etc.
UTCARSH:
It is a special cell for the physically and visually challenged students of the College. The cell organizes various activities and programs for their personal growth and integration.

I got my admission through merit-based. For getting admission, students should get a booklet for registration. Then do a choice filling for your college. once your number is on the merit list you have to go to that particular institution for verification.

In addition to traditional admission methods, such as entrance exams and interviews, colleges can consider alternative methods such as portfolio reviews, essays, and recommendations. This can help to identify students who may not perform well on traditional tests but have other strengths and talents.
Read Full ReviewEligibility is 10+2 for any stream. The total admission process is online. Students can apply for BCA through the college website with 450/- registration fees. Within a month college announce merit. In the 2022 year merit for the general was 89% and for obc it was 85%. They didn't take the entrance exam. Of any stream, students can apply for it. There is a special quota for the Christian student. Christian students are eligible at 45%. The admission process takes time about a month after the application form so I think it should be done within 15 days after the application is closed.
