These are three very different fields that can not be compared with each other whatsoever. Each of them is prestigious in itself. They can not be put in an order. Still, here are some basic points worth mentioning.
A more important question that you should ask yourself is “What does my interest lie in?” The way you pursue the course will decide its worth then. You should make sure that you flourish in whatever you do and build a good career out of it.
Getting a seat at St. Stephens College is a dream for every student but it is an impossible task. One of the worst things can be bribery and discrimination for admission to this prestigious college. Apart from this, the following can also be some more reasons:
Regardless of these disadvantages, St. Stephen’s is incomparable in terms of academics and the crowd.
If you are looking for a reputed university to pursue your higher education in India, there are several options available to you. Some of the most renowned institutions in the country include NIT Rourkela, St. Stephen’s Delhi, St. Xavier’s, and Presidency University Kolkata.
If you are passionate about your field of study, it is possible to excel and succeed regardless of where you study. However, there are several factors to consider when choosing a university, such as location, reputation, course offerings, and career prospects.
If you are from Kolkata, you may want to consider St. Xavier's or Presidency University Kolkata. These institutions are well-respected and offer a range of courses across different disciplines.
On the other hand, if you are seeking a university that offers excellent placement opportunities with top-notch industries, NIT Rourkela may be a good choice for you. This institution is known for its strong industry connections and has a track record of producing successful graduates.
It is essential to choose a university that is the right fit for your needs and goals. Here are some factors to consider when making your decision:
Ultimately, it is important to choose a university that resonates with you and supports your personal and professional growth.
The best courses offered by colleges depend on various parameters. Some of these parameters are faculty base, effective working of the department, placement opportunities provided by the institute, etc. I have a few friends from St. Stephens, Hindu College, and Hansraj College.
According to them, here are some of the courses that are quite reputed in these colleges.
Hope this clears your doubts.
I have friends from both St. Stephens and JMC. Here are a few of the information that I got from them.
Now coming to the courses, in English honors, you will learn about a myriad of texts from different countries and different time periods. However, you will have to spend your three years around poetry and prose. You won’t get to experience much diversity when it comes to subjects. For the BA program, however, you can choose all subjects from Social Science. There are many combinations that you can opt for.
So, I will suggest that you choose the program which will keep you interested for the next three years. College life will be similar irrespective of the institute. Also, gone are the days when students with honors degrees were treated superior to the students who pursued programs.
The MA in Economics course of St. Stephens College is taught by University of Delhi, Economics department, i.e. Delhi School of Economics. The classes are held at the university along with students from other colleges under DU. DSE offers excellent academics.
Being a student of St. Stephen’s you will also have access to the facilities of the college such as the library, hostels, etc.
Below given table shows a comparison between the two of the best colleges under Delhi University to pursue B. Sc (Hons.) in Chemistry.

Academics:
According to previous year, the cut off for admission to Hindu college for B. Sc (hons.) in Chemistry was 96.66% and in St. Stephen's it was 92%. The faculty contingency in both the colleges is very well reputed, dedicated and felicitated having won many recognitions to their name. It is not justified to distinguish between the teachers as all are almost at par with academic qualifications, achievements but are restricted by curriculum and different teaching patterns. Both the colleges organize national conferences and workshops for the holistic development of the students and to gain industry exposure.
Placement Opportunities:
The key feature which sets Stephen's apart is that when it comes to applying abroad for higher studies or internships or fellowship programmes, a lot of graduates have had the opportunity to do so owing to the scholarships and collaborations with foreign universities like Oxford, Yale and Cambridge. It has a more disciplined and rigorous and calm aura about itself not being as actively a part of the very famous DU fests as compared to other colleges. There are many ongoing research projects funded by SERB and UGC. Top recruiters being Hetero drugs, Emami, Homi Bhaba Centre for Science Education, BCG etc. offering a median salary of around 9LPA.
In the Hindu college, the median salary package for B. Sc in Chemistry at offer was 5LPA and average placement rate was low as most of the graduates sought to opt for higher studies. The top recruiters were DE Shaw, KPMG, IndiaBulls amongst others. Organizations like Empower India, Philip Morris International, Outlook rolled out internship opportunities too.
