College to focus on studies

Course Curriculum Overview:

Kalindi has awesome faculty members. Not only are they supportive and resolve your issues but also make the learning experience interesting. They are not aloof and would deal with any question you have, leaving you with no reason to not perform well in tests and exams.

Remarks:

I went through CUET. For journalism, choosing English is mandatory. After the CUET results were released, we had to then go to the portal given by Delhi University to add our college preferences there. There are not many colleges that provide courses in Journalism so you have to choose from the selected colleges.

A great place to grow!

Placement Experience:

The placement cell of our college provided internship opportunities throughout the year and its easily manageable to work while studying. The placements are mostly wfh and the avg salary is 15-30k a month (for internships) . I'm not really aware of the job placements because I'm in the first semester but it's constantly improving and we're looking forward to great companies accompanying us

Remarks:

The admissions were taken on the basis of CUET test scores. The whole process was on the university of Delhi's website where we were asked to submit our preferred colleges. The cut-off varied because of the variation in preferences but the competition was pretty much hard to crack.

kalindi college- A review

Course Curriculum Overview:

All faculty members were helpful throughout the course and encouraged me to excel in other domains as well. But some teachers just didn't care about the students and were attending classes just for the sake of it. My college was a girl college and there were some male and more female faculty members. Exams were conducted according to the academic calendar released by the college before the start of the semester.

Remarks:

The college admission process went smoothly. It all was an online process and I didn't go through much trouble when getting admission. The reservation surely helped in the admission process. Application forms were rolled out online and were being filled according to cut-offs released officially by Delhi university.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I was interested in doing a journalism course because I wanted to know what happens in media and how it works. The journalism faculty of our college is very good and experienced and very knowledgeable. Our Kalindi College has got an A grade from NAAC. The student ratio is accurate from other Colleges. The teaching method is good, journalism is a practical-based course so the faculty teaches us practically more than theoretically but I can say that some teachers are exceptions. Exams conduct timely and if you have attended your lectures regularly then You will not have much trouble during exam time.

Remarks:

The Eligibility criteria were very simple. First I got a cut-off list there was 5 cut-off list. I got admission after filling in some more details and paying a little amount as an admission fee. During the admission process, The internet server of the college was always down and no one used to pick up the phone from the college, if a call was made for any inquiry, then I would like this process to be changed, but it was during the time of Covid.

Kalindi college : average of savage

Placement Experience:

From year 3rd i.e sem 5, students become eligible for campus placements. Many companies offer handsome packages for freshers. Offers for many positions are made by banking companies like HDFC, KOTAK, etc, and many others. average package is 6-7 lacs and Max is 15-25 lacs. 20-30% of the students get placed in good companies. I have planned to get some more extra skills developed for me and then get a job with a good position in a co. Along with handsome money.

Remarks:

For every student, the eligibility criteria were of( best of 4) percentage and I was a general category student, so, the percentage cut-off was a bit high for me. everything like the application form and fee structure ( after you get admitted to a college) can be found on the DU portal itself. The online process can be simplified by the authority as the DU portal is a bit difficult to use.

One of my friends studied at Kalindi College of Delhi University. According to her, it is a really good institution and offers decent opportunities. SPM is also a good college and it has its fair share of pros and cons. It is a well facilitated institution. Here are some facts about both of them: Kalindi College: They have a highly experienced faculty. They are also helpful towards the students, you will get to learn a lot from them. The student crowd is diverse. Students here have to maintain a 80% attendance, otherwise they will not be able to sit for the examinations. Being in Delhi, it offers enough industrial exposure. SPM: It has active clubs and societies students can take part in. They give a fair opportunity to every student. It also has one of the best auditoriums in all DU colleges. Their canteen is affordable and offers hygienic food. The administration and faculty are not up to the mark. They are not cooperative with the students. The faculty members do not take initiative to encourage practical works, allow creativity, have valid arguments, etc. Also the college does not provide hostel facilities so people either have to live as paying guests or have to commute on a daily basis. So even though you might get ample opportunities like internships there is no active participation for this SPM lags a lot behind than the other DU colleges. Overall SPM is a below average college where management does not put the slightest efforts to make it a better place. Therefore Kalindi will be a better option.

DU colleges are always a bit strict when it comes to academics. Thus securing a seat in a DU college is comparatively tougher. You have to be interested in the course you are willing to pursue, because they will require your full attention and dedication. DU colleges also have a higher cut off than most of the other colleges, thus getting admission in a DU college is really a big achievement. Here are some facts about it: Pros: At Kalindi some of the departments are better than others, these include the Journalism, Political Science and the Science department. They have a really cooperative and helpful faculty, who are also highly experienced in their respective fields. The college conducts seminars, workshops and industry visits for the students to acquire practical knowledge. The Journalism department has an upgraded lab with all the necessary and modern softwares and applications. There are a lot of interdepartmental fests being held by different college clubs and societies. Students are able to participate and engage in dramatics, fashion, debating, singing, NCC and NSS. The student crowd is diverse, with students from different cultures and backgrounds. There are a variety of sports like weight lifting, karate, volleyball, handball, Badminton, athletics, yoga, etc. Practice sessions and matches are conducted regularly. Students are encouraged to take part in them actively. They also have self-defence camps, sports day, etc. Cons: The administration is not at all cooperative with the students. The work never gets completed in time. Accommodation is not sufficient but there are a variety of choices and food quality is good. Hygiene is maintained. The campus is smaller as compared to other colleges. You should give more preference to the course while choosing college than any other reason.
