Shyama Prasad Mukherji College for Women (SPM) is one of the affiliated colleges of Delhi University. The ‘all girls’ college is popularly known as SPM College and offers UG courses in the humanities and commerce stream and PG courses in the humanities stream. All the courses are offered in 18 different disciplines to more than 3000 students. Besides, the college also offers B.Ed. and B.El.Ed. courses. SPM College is among a few institutions of Delhi University which offers B.Ed. course outside the Central Institute of Education (CIE), University of Delhi.
Admission to UG courses is based on the CUET UG scores and CUET PG is accepted for admission to PG courses at Shyama Prasad Mukherji College. After qualifying in entrance exam, candidates have to appear in the DU CSAS seat allocation process.
Named after the renowned academician and statesman Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherji, the college laid its foundation in 1969. In the early days the college offered only six courses and had a strength of only 500 students accompanied by few teaching and administrative staff. The relentless efforts of Dr. Kamala Sanghi, founder Principal of SPM College, to get a spacious & well-constructed college building, enroll more students, appoint a team of learned faculty members and introduce multiple course options were acknowledged by the Delhi Government. At present SPM College stands tall on a 10 acre land at Punjabi Bagh West. It has been accredited Grade ‘B’ by NAAC.
In the present day, SPM College has an urban campus of 10 acres that includes more than 112 well furnished classrooms, 7 seminar halls, state of the art Auditorium with fine ambiance and fully air conditioned, a computerized and well stocked Library, fully equipped Gym, Laboratories, etc. The college is Wifi enabled and several classrooms, seminar halls and all the labs have projector facilities.
SPM College enrolls students coming from different parts of India and from various cultural backgrounds. The college adheres to all the Government made rules for the reserved category while conducting the admission process. It also provides special provisions for the differently abled students and staff. To facilitate them with convenience in movement within the campus, the college has provided ramps, wheel chairs, washrooms and special pavements.

SPM College admission to both UG and PG courses is based on scores obtained in the CUET examination. The admission process includes appearing for the CUET examination and then appearing in the DU CSAS seat allotment. Registration for admission to the college starts after CUET result declarations. Candidates who qualify the entrance examination must register on the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) Portal of Delhi University for seat allotment. Once the registration is done, candidates will be asked to fill college and course preferences.
Step 3: Seat Allocation
The seat allocation will be done in multiple rounds for all programs.
