Admission to B.A. Honours/ Major Course is done on the basis of merit in the qualifying examination.
Gokhale College offers B.A. Honours program in eight specializations and B.A. Major Course in two specializations. Both the programs are of three-year duration.
Students who have completed 10+2/ HSC from a recognized Board and have cleared English subject with full marks not less than 100, are eligible to apply for admission to BA Honours/ Major course.
Additionally, each specialization has certain eligibility criteria that should be fulfilled by the aspirants in order to get admission.

Key Points to remember for B.A. Admission:
- Candidates who belong to SC/ ST category must have obtained minimum 40% marks in aggregate or in the related subject at 10+2 level.
- Those who want to opt for Elective English must have scored at least 60% marks in English at 10+2 level.
- Aggregate marks are calculated by adding the score of top 4 subjects as per the obtained marks, excluding marks obtained in compulsory Environmental Studies/ Education subject.
- If Environment Studies/ Education is studied as an elective subject of 100 marks then it is considered during the calculation of aggregate marks.
