Actually I had done my class 12th from chandigarh so it is not very tough for me to take admission in this college because of the ut quota. So after my 12 result forms are opened different colleges in Chandigarh which are affiliated with panjab university so fill out the form and got admission to the first counseling. The cutoff of my course is an average of 90-92 percent for other than ut students and the cutoff for ut students is around 65 percent.

Remarks:

I took admission 1 month late and the classes started to run at that time. All the students have to contact the Dean if they are late in taking admissions and to get admission the student must get a percentage above 60% in the 12th class. The students were struggling to get admission but if you have a good percentage, it's easy to get admission. Yes!! Now as I want to opt for Economics honors we can get it from the second year of college as the college checks your eligibility that whether the student is good in the subject field or not. The student must get above 60% in the respective subject. Reservation benefits are also provided but as I had a good percentage, I didn't have to avail myself of that. Yes if you are having late admission you must have to pay for late admission fee which is 3-4 thousand rupees extra than the normal fees. The admission process could be improved more if the college released separate forms than just CUET which are easily available on the internet.

There is a simple way to take admission to any college on your percentage in your Twelfth class or some college conduct entrance exams to get admission, but in my case, i have given an entrance exam and i have seen the exam date on the college website and then apply for that there and provide my details like tenth's marks sheet and the twelfth and choose my courses for which I am applying in the college, Moreover, after doing all this formality I pay my fee that has been charged by my college later on. I got an examination date and I have raised to the exam hall. my exam after 15 days. DAV College - [DAVC]: 14 answered questions

Ques
I have to choose between Dav college Chandigarh and SD college Chandigarh for psychology honors Which one is better and in what respect?

● Top Answer By Divya Gupta on 22 Oct 21

Ans
I would advise you to attend SD College. Both colleges are excellent; however, there are a few factors that give SD the upper hand over DAV. Safety and peace: DAV College has seen numerous fights and hassle among students and the crowd is not safe. On the other hand, SD College has a passionate and good crowd. Faculty: Both colleges have excellent faculty, although SD college is a little more serious about studies than the faculty at DAV. Environment: DAV attracts a raucous audience, but SD attracts a more good audience, and hence SD’s setting and ambience are considerably superior. Aside from these fundamentals, they’re both just college. Enroll in any of them; after the first semester, you’ll be skipping classes anyhow.

Ques
What is your review of DAV College Chandigarh?

● Top Answer By Akhil Mishra on 21 Apr 22

Ans
DAV College Chandigarh has a huge campus. It includes a playground and 3-4 little gardens. The college is situated at the center of the city and everything is nearby. You can get all the basic amenities on campus as well. There are two canteens, two Nescafes, a juice center, a stationery shop, a print shop, a salon, and laundry.   The faculties are well-experienced. Some of the faculty members are quite friendly and cooperative. The college has a three-story library. It has a good collection of books.  DAV College has many clubs and societies like Literary society, Economic Society, NSS, etc. The college organizes events like Karvaan, and Star nights annually.   Election times are the worst. There are many fights and unnecessary chaos on campus. The college isn’t strict regarding its attendance rule and you can get away with not attending classes. Faculties sometimes don’t attend the classes and as a result, the students suffer. These are some of the disadvantages that you may have to face on campus.

Ques
Which is better DAV College or SD College Chandigarh for a B.Com?

● Top Answer By Ankit Sharma on 13 Oct 21

Ans
Among DAVC and SD College, the latter is far better. The following are the reasons. There is no attendance policy in DAVC. Students have a choice to be absent from lectures. It gives too much liberty that gets misused. In DAVC, there is no proper study environment, and students fail to enjoy college life. At SD College, you will be able to enjoy politics, studies, festivals, campus, study, and college life. SD College offers a good B.Com program. The facilities offered at SD College exceed DAVC. It comprises hostel, library, classrooms, auditorium, communicative English lab, research lab, cafeteria, bank, health center, ERP Portal, and more. Overall, SD College is better for admission between the given choices.

Ques
Which is better Chandigarh University or DAV College Chandigarh?

● Top Answer By Nishita Suri on 22 Oct 21

Ans
It is dependent on the course you wish to enroll in. Some courses are quite popular at Chandigarh University, whereas others are popular at DAV College. If you are looking for better infrastructure and placements, Chandigarh University should be preferred over DAV. It has been awarded an A+ grade by NAAC and is the only state-private university to be accredited by NAAC. The curriculum followed at CU is industry-oriented and based on market standards. The level of exposure you will receive here is exceptional with numerous opportunities. Apart from this, Chandigarh University has tie-ups with international institutions. The university has recorded excellent placement records with participating companies like Microsoft, Google, Amazon, IBM, Walt Disney, Oracle, and many more.

Ques
Can I migrate from DAV College Chandigarh to PU main campus in my 2nd year of BA?

● Top Answer By Nikhil Arora, on 12 Nov 21

Ans
Yes, you can migrate from DAV College Chandigarh to PU main campus in your 2nd year of BA  You just need to know about the requirements for doing so. These could include: marks required or seats vacancy, etc. The students involved in the youth elections will be able to guide you. Try getting a hold of a person who is a party member. He may be able to get you in, by admission or by referral. Also note that there could be a slight chance that in PU, the reference required has to be powerful or influential.

Ques
Which is better: Panjab University or DAV College Chandigarh? I want to do a BSc in PCM.

● Top Answer By Sandip Roy on 12 Nov 21

Ans
Panjab University’s main campus only offers B.Sc(Hons). Admission is through PU-CET. The UG seats are also limited. For admission, you can fill the form online, by visiting the admission portal of the university.  DAV College is affiliated with Panjab University. Both B.Sc (Hons) and general (PCM) are available. Admission is based on merit as for which will be better, choose the institute based on your preference.

Ques
How is DAV College Chandigarh for a BCA?

● Top Answer By Kanika Sharma on 22 Oct 21

Ans
It all depends on what your goals are. If you want to acquire a degree, then choosing DAV College is fine. The college does not care about attendance and you can easily complete the program even if you miss classes for a month. However, a heavy fine will be charged for the same. If you want to learn new things and looking for great opportunities in BCA, then look for some other option. The faculty is good but they are not experienced in the area properly and this can be a setback.  Go for BCA only if you are interested in programming and computer applications, otherwise, you will regret this decision.

Ques
Can I get admission to DAV College Chandigarh with 84% in a B.Com?

● Top Answer By Aniket Roy on 12 Nov 21

Ans
It depends whether you have done your 10+2 from Chandigarh or outside of UT. If you have done your 10+2 from UT, then you can get admission quite easily with 84%. But if you completed your 10+2 from outside then it will be a little tough to get selected. Since the cutoff is a little high.

Ques
Can a 60% in 12th arts student gain admission to a BA program at DAV College, Chandigarh?

● Top Answer By Garima Mukherjee on 12 Nov 21

Ans
You can definitely apply, whether you will get admission or not, it depends on the availability of seats. Many times, students leave their seats for better colleges. This way seats are vacated and made available for students who didn’t get admission during counseling.  The number of seats for the BA program at DAV College has been reduced a few years back. The required cutoff may be higher. I will suggest that you fill the form and wait for the cutoff list.

Ques
How is DAV College Chandigarh for doing a B.A.?

● Top Answer By Sreetoma Rana on 13 Oct 21

Ans
One of my friends is an alumnus of Dayanand Anglo-Vedic College (DAVC), who studied B.Sc. Here is his experience in brief.  The teaching approach of the faculty members is impressive. The admission in the B.A. program, based on merit and seat availability. The infrastructure of the college is also decent.  As a BA student, you will have the opportunities to prove yourself in academics and co-curricular activities.  The competitions, parties, etc. will make you more comfortable speaking in public.  The library is great and so is the overall environment on campus.  Doing BA from DAV college can be a great option if you are interested in the Civil Service examination.  DAVC is an ordinary college, but it is an excellent institute for pursuing an undergraduate degree.
