Students can prepare for six or seven of the nine course exams required to become an actuary and also will be eligible for all three VEEs (Validation by Educational Experience) upon successful completion of all required and recommended courses. In addition, most students also earn a second major in Statistics and a minor in Management.
Careers in Actuarial Science
Most Actuarial Science graduates become actuaries. Actuaries are highly desirable in management positions because of their multidisciplinary background and strong quantitative emphasis. Graduates are highly recruited by top insurance companies. Some go on to graduate school in business or finance, and some take jobs as statisticians or in other math-related careers.
