The SUNY Fashion Institute of Technology has a wide campus ranging over 1.5 NYC blocks located at New York City’s Chelsea Neighborhood. The university has over 2,155 students occupying their residential halls. The university offers on-campus living in four of its on-campus residence halls and assistance for off-campus housing. Housing Facilities/ Residences at SUNY Fashion Institute of Technology

The FIT provides on-campus housing facilities to over 1,100 new entrants on 27th street and 1,100 currently admitted students at 31st Street’s Kaufman hall. The institution has four on-campus residences. Besides, it also offers a summer housing program for visiting interns. The housing facilities include double and quad apartments.

  • Coed Hall (27th Street): Coed Hall is a fifteen-story building that is well facilitated with air conditioning, suites, private bathrooms, and kitchens.   • Nagler Hall (27th Street): Nagler Hall located at 27th street is a traditional residence of 10-story solely for female students. The floors from 2 to 10 have a separate community bathroom as well as laundry and other amenities. Besides, there are double occupancy rooms, limited air-conditioned rooms with private bathrooms and kitchen. Besides, for entertainment, the first floor comprises a lounge and kitchen.
  • Alumni Hall (27th Street): The Alumni Hall is an 18-story building comprising air-conditioned apartments. The residence hall also consists of a residential life office, student workroom, laundry rooms between 2nd and 7th floors. There are a total of eight suites on the floor each facilitated with two bedrooms, a bathroom, common dining, and a kitchen area. A total of four students are allowed to house in each suite.
  • Kaufman Hall (31st Street): The Kaufman Hall is a 3,20,000 sq ft. 15 story building that comprises one, two, three and four-bed loft-style suites. It houses approximately 1,100 students and is especially home to returning students. Each apartment is facilitated with private bathrooms and a kitchen. Besides, the residential hall also consists of the workroom, a computer lab, and a fitness center.

Students interested in on-campus residence can apply for fall and spring housing. For this, they must visit the MyFit portal on the website. Candidates must maintain 12 or more credits each semester to be eligible for housing. Besides, they must also pay a $500.00 non-refundable fee as a deposit at the time of applying.

Presidential Scholars
