Southwestern University Admission Deadlines

Students are requested to submit their applications prior to the deadline for them to be considered for admission. The University does not entertain late applications. Here are the deadlines for the enrolment seasons.

Visa Process for International Students

After confirming the Letter of Acceptance, the students are required to submit a 500 USD enrolment deposit to reserve a place in the class and on campus housing of Southwestern University.

On receipt of the deposit amount, the student will be issued the United States Department of Homeland Security Form 1-20 by the university. The student can schedule an interview at the nearest United States consulate or Embassy by paying the SEVIS fee. After the interview, the international students are offered an F-1 student visa to study in the US.

Eligibility criteria

The coursework must include

  • Four years of English
  • Four years of mathematics
  • Three years of science
  • Four years of social science and/or history
  • Non native speakers must take TOEFL or IELTS, and those who can are native speakers must take either the SAT or ACT.

Admission Decision

  • Early decision applicants will receive notification before December 1 and they have or submit before November 1while others can expect before March 1
  • Early action applicants will receive notification before March 1 and they have to submit before December 1
  • Regular Decision applicants will receive notification before April 1
  • The early action and regular decision applicants with strong credentials will be offered admission on a rolling basis before March 1 and April 1 respectively.

The Southwestern University requires the international students to submit the completed application with Essay along with the required documents before the appropriate deadlines.

The university is selective and the admission decision is based on academic excellence. 

Southwestern University considers TOEFL or IELTS as an English proficiency. While achievements in extracurricular activities, the strength of writing samples also play a major role in the selection process. The accepted students will receive the letter of acceptance and 1-20 after the payment of enrolment deposits. The application deadline for the merit based scholarship is December 1 and the financial aid will provide to the merit based students.
