Angelo State University is a public university located in San Angelo, West Texas. In 1928, San Angelo College was established as part of the city school system, and from a small college, it turned into an accredited higher education institution in a very short period. It became Angelo State College in 1965 through an act of the Texas State Legislature and was renamed Angelo State University thereafter. It is the second-largest campus in the Texas Tech University System.
