JIS University BTech admissions are based on WBJEE Score/ JEE Main Score. The application process for WBJEE has commenced on December 28, 2023. The last date for the WBJEE registration 2024 is on January 31, 2024. Candidates can register for the WBJEE 2024 at wbjeeb.nic.in. WBJEE Exam Date 2024 is April 28, 2024.

The selection to courses is based upon the online JIS University Entrance Exam.
The exam is conducted either at University campus or can be given by candidates while sitting at their homes.
The university conducts the exam every Thursday (2 pm to 4 pm) and Saturday (11 am to 1 pm).

How to Apply for JIS University?

Candidates need to fill an online application by following a sequence of steps as mentioned below:

Go to the official website of JIS University.
Select Apply Now option under Admission tab.
Register by providing name, mobile number, and email address.
Upon successful registration, proceed to fill the application form using application number and password.
After filling the form, candidates need to visit the University campus for Document verification and to appear in online entrance exam.

NOTE – Candidates applying from India need to choose General option for the respective course they wish to apply for while candidates from outside India need to select International option.

JIS University Scholarship 2023

JIS University, under its JISUMS scheme, offers scholarships to meritorious and financially weak students of society. The scholarship amount, extending up to 100% on tuition fees of the total course fees, is awarded on the basis of the assessment of prospective candidates by the JISUMS Committee. The University awards its scholarship to the students who wish to pursue their studies in various courses at JIS University. JIS University offers scholarship (JISUMS) to the candidates fulfilling any criterion listed below:

Entrance Examination: The candidate should have to score a good percentile in the JIS University Entrance test for admission (JET 2021).
Previous Qualification: The candidate with consistent performance in all previous qualifying examinations.

Which is a better law college, JIS Law College or Sarsuna Law College?

Among JIS Law College and Sarsuna Law College, the latter is superior. Here are some of the facilities that you will get at the college.

Good Location: The college is situated in Behala. The place is well-connected with the other parts of Kolkata.

Faculties: The faculties are quite good. Most of the professors have done their PhD and are renowned lecturers.

Moot Courts: It offers moot courts and debate. By participating, you will be able to understand the right way to deal with modern problems in the legal field.

Infrastructure: It offers all basic facilities including well-ventilated classrooms, library, sports room with decent amenities.

Placements: Currently students are more interested in Corporate law. So, the practice of corporate law has increased rapidly. You will get enough opportunities to get into corporate law from Sarsuna Law College.

Overall, Sarsuna Law College is a great option for pursuing your Law degree.

Which one is better for a B.Tech in CSE, JIS University or JIS College of Engineering?

JIS College of Engineering (JISCE) is the 2nd branch of the JIS group of institutions. JISCE is considered to be a better institution than JIS University (JISU), for their placement record, faculty, etc. Candidates must have 60% in PCM in their 10+2 qualifying examinations to be eligible for admission. They should also have a valid WBJEE score.

The table given below gives some factual information on both institutions:

Some points on JISCE being a better institution for BTech are as follows:

JISCE follows a concept of 'Flip Learning,' a rare mode of learning which gives an advantage in placement than JISU. It is the first of its kind in West Bengal.
At JISCE, about 140-150 CSE students got placed with Amazon, Capgemini and Wipro with an average package of 2.5-2.8 LPA. The highest package was INR 10 LPA offered by BYJUs. Over 80% of students got placed in 2020.
The major recruiters at JISU are Bandhan Bank, Cipla, and Flipkart.
JISCE has better lab facilities than JISU. It has over 57 laboratories with better infrastructure and are fully wifi enabled.
The CSE department of the JISCE promotes Digital Learning to save paperwork, keeping in alignment with the digital age.
JIS College of Engineering has a highly qualified faculty of over 20-25 members. They are better compared to JIS University.

The only negative point is that the campus life is boring at JISU, and ragging is rampant as well.There are many colleges under the JIS group and if you compare JIS colleges with others in terms of faculty, placements, salary packages offered, JISCE gets the first position.
