RGUKT ranked under the band score of 151-200 by NIRF 2017. It is an autonomous university and recognised by the UGC. It offers a varied number of UG, PG, PHD programs such as B.Tech, M.Tech & P.hd in different disciplines. Admissions are invited for B.Tech, a 6 years integrated full-time program with 7 specializations. Last date to register is July 15. University admits candidates to its B.Tech program on the basis of merit in 10th standard and counseling conducted by the university. M.Tech admission at RGUKT is based on a valid score in GATE exam. Candidates have to appear in a Written Test followed by an Interview to secure admission in Ph.D. program. CSIR NET/ UGC NET/ JRF/ GATE or any other equivalent examination qualified candidates are also eligible to apply for Ph.D. program. Application forms are available on the official website of RGUKT.

RGUKT Integrated B.Tech Admission 2023

RGUKT offers a six-year B.Tech program in various specializations at UG level. A pass in class x with at least 50% marks is the minimum eligibility criteria. Admission is offered on the basis of marks in class X. Candidates will be shortlisted for the counselling round at the time of final seat allotment.

RGUKT M.Tech Admission 2023

At PG level, the university offers a full-time M.Tech program for the duration of two years. BE/ B.Tech in the relevant discipline with 55% marks in aggregate is the minimum eligibility criteria for admission. Admission is based on a valid score in GATE followed by counselling. Passing of "Introductory course in computing" conducting by RGUKT with at least 80% marks is mandatory for M.Tech (Computational Engineering).

RGUKT Ph.D Admission 2023

RGUKT also offers Ph.D. at Doctorate level in the discipline of Science and Engineering. Master’s degree in the related stream is the desired eligibility criteria for admission. Selection process includes a written test followed by an interview. CSIR NET/ UGC NET/ JRF/ GATE or any other equivalent examination qualified candidates will be directly eligible for admission. Such candidates will have to appear in the interview round only.

RGUKT Application Process 2023

Application form can be filled by using AP online services OR by following the link given on the official website of RGUKT (for AP & Telangana candidates). Follow these steps to apply for the courses offered by RGUKT.

Visit the official website of RGUKT.
Click on ‘Admission’ in the menu bar followed by ‘UG Admissions’.
Now click on ‘How to Apply’ and select your mode of application, i.e., AP Online (for all candidates) OR ‘Application link for AP Telangana Students’.

Apply through AP Online Center (for all candidates):

Visit the nearest AP Online Center along with required documents and soft copies of passport size photograph.
Pay the application fee of INR 150 (INR 100 for SC/ST) along with service charges of INR 25. Application fee can also be paid through another payment link given on the website.
Keep the printout of application fee receipt for future reference.

Note 1: Students belonging to states other than AP and Telangana, Gulf Countries or NRIs can apply under ‘Other States & NRI Students’.

Note 2: Only PH/ CAI/ NCC Sports categories have to send their applications by post to RGUKT.

Application Process for Andhra and Telangana Students: Apart from ‘AP Online Center’, the candidates belonging to AP and Telangana can also apply by following the given steps:

Fill the application form and upload the desired documents.
Pay the application fee of INR 150 (INR 100 for SC/ ST).
Submit and save the application for future reference.

What is your review of IIIT Nuzvid?

The facilities are quite good but you will not find smart graduates here. The classrooms are good with 3-star accommodation. Everything including the notices is sent online.

A peculiar thing that you will notice is that everyone here uses Linux as an operating system including Fedora, Ubuntu, and Zorin.
There are no hard copy textbooks and it is a smart campus with no electrical lines seen anywhere.
In your first year, you will do well, plus there is no entrance exam to gain admission.
Infrastructure-wise, the college is good. It was mainly started to boost village students to gain exposure to higher education.
It also gives an option of 6 years of free education to prevent girls from getting married too early.
There are also free food and hostel facilities for underprivileged students. However, the main drawback is that it could shrink the mindset of many students by making them complacent.
You will also find really good faculty that will help you secure a job later. Most lecturers here are individuals who have done well in their subjects.
Underprivileged students also get the opportunity to access movies and the internet.

Overall, it is a good place but most students end up being intelligent and not street smart here.

Is a 7.8 GPA eligible for IIIT Nuzvid?

The required GPA for IIIT Nuzvid stays around 9.7+. The GPA requirement for SC/ST category students is around 9.5. So, the possibility of getting admission to the institute with a 7.8 GPA is slim. Students from the physically challenged category might have a chance of getting admission with a 7.8 GPA.

IIIT Nuzvid offers pre-requisite courses for joining University. These are known as PUC( Pre University Course), MPC, MBiPC and have two courses to offer namely PUC1 and PUC2. There is no BiPC separately. One has to study MPC and has no other branches. There are two-semester per year and four semesters in total for PUC.

Candidates interested in biology or IT can have these courses but as the summer course. This counts as an extra course and you will receive a separate certificate for any of these subjects if opted. Once you are done with this you have to study engineering and there is no entrance examination for that.

Can RGUKT Nuzvid students crack the CAT?

As the institute is below average, but there have been students from RGUKT who have cracked the CAT exam in the past. CAT is considered one of the grinding MBA entrances. There were around 75 alumni who sailed through CAT. Most of them had percentiles that were above 98 and got admission in top B-schools like IIM A, B, C, K, and more.

You can prepare for the CAT from the last year of your engineering degree. You need to understand the syllabus and practice solving the past papers. Many academies, like Kish Academy, conduct seminars about CAT. They give insights about how to prepare and what it takes to clear the exam.

For the dream institute, IIM A, you need to score 99.9+ to get a call as an engineer. Even after receiving the call for an interview, you should ace the interview round.

If you are prepared and well-practiced, you will be able to score excellent percentile. You do not have to fear the institute from where you completed your graduation.

Among all the campuses of RGUKT, Nuzvid is the best campus. Since it is the oldest campus, it has better infrastructure and facilities. You will get decent resources, it's up to you to utilize them well.

The Nuzvid campus also has better placement records. Students get placements packages of around INR 4-5 LPA.

RGUKT Nuzvid is the only institute which provides students with laptop and internet connectivity. The institute has a population of 6000 students and 300 faculty members. The institute also has the biggest library in Andhra Pradesh.
