Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences - [RGUHS]: 17 answered questions

Ques
How useful is going through last 10 year's question papers of the RGUHS 1st year MBBS final exam? Are the questions repeated?

● Top Answer By Indrajit Basak on 20 Oct 21

Ans
According to one of my friends at RGUHS, first-year MBBS includes subjects such as anatomy, physiology, and biochemistry.  There will be a certain limit to the number of questions asked in the examination.  It’s wise to go through previous years’ question papers to have a sound knowledge regarding the pattern and types of reliable questions.  Approach your seniors as they will have a stock of “must-read” topics and 10 years of solved question papers.  Question banks of Singi Yatriraj are a must-have reference when it comes to solving test papers. One simple tip is to read the questions and relate to the important aspects including the condition or phenomena. Therefore, follow these pointers thoroughly for your exam. By practicing often you will realize that a lot of questions are usually repeated.

Ques
How should I cope up after failing in 1st year MBBS? I appeared from RGUHS?

● Top Answer By Amita Sarkar on 28 Jun 22

Ans
It’s needless to say MBBS course work is grueling. Setbacks and supplementary papers are a common occurrence. So, don’t lose heart.  Put in the required effort and prioritize your studies over everything else. I know students who have failed in the first year yet scoured 70+ marks throughout their MBBS.

Ques
Where can I find links for RGUHS Karnataka MBBS previous years question papers?

● Top Answer By Kunal Kumar on 20 Oct 21

Ans
According to some of my friends studying in Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) Karnataka, here are the books he mentioned would be important. The question bank by the author is Singhi Yatiraj is the best option when it comes to pursuing a question bank.  The book is a well-framed set of previous year question papers and follows the RS pattern. It can be referred by any student of MBBS for studying their course effectively.  The best part is that you can purchase it online.

Ques
Is the RGUHS correction of the 2nd year MBBS strict or liberal?

● Top Answer By Sandiya Banerjee on 05 Mar 22

Ans
I have a few friends from RGUHS. According to them, corrections are neither too strict nor too liberal. So, how much you score will depend on your performance and luck. Sometimes students get unexpected marks, but those are isolated events. If you have performed well in the examinations and included a few diagrams and flowcharts then you don’t need to worry about the marks.

Ques
What are some helpful tips for students starting their first year at RGUHS?

● Top Answer By Drishanu Roy on 11 Oct 21

Ans
I have a few friends from RGUHS and here are some of the tips they shared.  Make new friends, so you don’t feel homesick.  You won’t like hostel food at first. But with time, you will get used to it.  Make it a habit to study on a daily basis so that you do not have to stress on exam days. It is useful to plan your reading ahead of time since you will need revision.  Be punctual with all your assignments and practicals. The same goes for internal exams, not a smart move to take them lightly.  Solve the previous year’s question papers to make your mind work efficiently so there are no questions in your exams that make you go totally blank. It will make you feel confident.  The exam dates might get postponed, don’t worry about it. It will just prove as a plus point for you and give you more time to revise.  Take good care of your health.  These are some of the things that you should keep in mind if you are planning to join RGUHS.

Ques
What is carry over of subjects in 2nd year MBBS rguhs Can u write MBBS 3rd year exam in dec after passing the 2nd year supplementary exams in June?

● Top Answer By Atul Valake on 01 Jul 22

Ans
Carry-over subjects are the ones that you failed to clear in that academic year. If you have carry-over subjects from the 2nd year, you will be able to attend 3rd-year MBBS classes but you will have to clear the supplementary examinations for the carry-over subjects.  Yes, you can write 3rd-year examination in June after clearing 2nd-year supplementary examinations in June. The course work of 3rd year isn’t heavy there is only one major subject, i.e. PSM along with two minor subjects. So, you will be able to manage.

Ques
Do you need to pass separately on both papers of the first MBBS RGUHS?

● Top Answer By Sreemona Dasgupta on 11 Oct 21

Ans
There is no need to pass separately on both the papers of a subject in the first year of MBBS RGUHS. You just need to make sure to score above 50% of the total that includes your internal examinations, both the papers and the theory viva. According to the RS3 regulations and the marks distribution, it is not mandatory.  Internals carry 40 marks, total marks for both papers combined is 200 marks and the viva has 40 marks. So, the total becomes 280, out of which it is necessary for you to score above 140 to pass the subject. This holds true for the subjects- anatomy and physiology. As for biochemistry, only half of it will be applied to the subject.

Ques
How can I (average student) pass in the first year MBBS examination RGUHS?

● Top Answer By Shreya Goyal, on 02 Nov 21

Ans
Passing in the first-year MBBS examination RGUHS requires a bit of tip and tricks. If you are an average student try following these as it could be helpful. Buy a companion (Yatiraj Singhi) and mark all RS2 and RS3 questions in the textbooks (focussing more on RS3) and read that much only.  To pass it is not necessary to study the complete syllabus. Read All 3 markers questions from previous 5-year question papers, you can get it from the library or seniors.  Your target should be to score at least 22+ of the given 30. Once you have scored it, you need to score is 28 more to pass the exams. For this, you are left with 5 and 10 marker questions, which means that you have to score 28 out of 70. Try scoring 3 marks each from the questions you know. You are done with 18 more marks.  For the rest of the 4 questions, you should write it in such a way that you manage to score at least 1.5 - 2 marks for each question.  For this, you should make diagrams and write a bit about them. Your strategy is to not waste much time on 10 markers while studying but to focus more on diagrams and flowcharts.  MCQs will also be there which come under the same high-scoring category but they could come from any part of the book.
