Course Description

Galgotias University offers B.Techdegree in 17 specializations. The minimum requirement to apply for a B.Tech degree is 60% marks in class 12th examination with Physics, Chemistry and Math as compulsory subjects. This is a full-time program which rages for a duration of 4 years and consists of 8 semesters. The admission is granted based on the rank obtained in JEE Main examinations as well.

Galgotias University B.Tech Eligibility Criteria

Students applying for admission at Galgotias University for B.Tech course must fulfil either of the given below criteria:

The students should have passed class 12 examinations with 60% aggregate marks. The student must have Physics and Maths as compulsory subjects with one out of Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, Technical Vocational subject, Computer Science, Information Technology, Informatics Practices, Agriculture, Engineering Graphics and Business Studies as an additional subject.
The students should have passed class 12 examinations with 50% aggregate marks. The student must have Physics and Maths as compulsory subjects with one out of Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, Technical Vocational subject, Computer Science, Information Technology, Informatics Practices, Agriculture, Engineering Graphics and Business Studies as an additional subject. The student must also have a minimum 40%mile or a rank up-to 5 lakhs in JEE Mains.

Students who are applying for lateral entry must fulfil either of the given below criteria:

Students should have a passed diploma examination with at least 50% marks in any specialization.
The student must have a passed B.Sc. degree with minimum 50% aggregate marks. The applicant must have passed 10+2 examinations with Mathematics as a compulsory subject.

Students migrating from other universities must fulfil either of the given below criteria:

Students must have a minimum 60% or a 6.0 CGPA in the first year of BE/B.Tech degree.
Student must have passed class 12th examination with 65% marks

Galgotias University B.Tech Admission Guidelines

Admission for B.Tech courses are done based on both marks based on merit-based examinations and the rank obtained in JEE mains examinations as well. For the year 2020 GEEE examinations have been cancelled. The students are requested to apply online due to COVID-19 pandemic, but they can also apply offline.

GEEE Exam Pattern

The exam is divided into three parts, Maths, Chemistry and Physics namely. The paper has a duration of 90 minutes and the student needs to answer 90 questions to complete the examination. The section wise break-up is given below:

Galgotias University B.Tech Course Details

The B. The Tech program at Galgotias University is offered in multiple categories.
The program has a duration of four years and each academic year is divided into two semesters. The odd semester begins in June and ends in November, whereas the even semester ranges from December to April of each year.
The student needs to earn 160 credits to complete and obtain their M. Pharma. degree.
The student must complete 34 core subjects including projects, 5 elective courses and 15 practical courses to complete the degree

Yes, there are PGs near Galgotias University but it can be very tough getting one for less than Rs: 6,000. My friend used to be a student of Galgotias University and he used to stay in a PG which was very close to the university. He used to live at Stanza Living. His living experience at Stanza Living was a memorable one. The PG used to organize events for career enhancement which made life in the hostel interesting. Food provided at the PG is quite good too. The rent is made known to the students straight away. Stanza Living offers rooms that are fully furnished, there is unlimited wifi, laundry service. In addition to that, the PG also provides facilities for transportation to and from the university. Stanza Living is at a distance of 15 km from Galgotias University. Most of the PGs are available in Alpha, Beta, and Gamma colonies of Greater Noida. Which is almost 15 km away from Galgotias University on the Expressway. It’s hard to find any PG or personal accommodation before this and daily commute is unavoidable.

This means that students who graduate from IMSEC are more likely to secure good job opportunities in their respective fields. Secondly, GU has a tendency to charge additional fees from students, which is not the case with IMSEC. This means that students at IMSEC do not have to worry about additional financial burdens during their academic years. Thirdly, although GU offers a diverse range of courses such as B.Tech, B.A, BCA, etc., some of these courses such as BA and BCA tend to have a large number of local students. This can sometimes lead to a disruptive learning environment. Finally, GU has a history of not returning the security deposit to students after they complete their course, whereas IMSEC has a clean record in this regard.
