The University is situated in Kanpur and Etawah of Uttar Pradesh, both campuses of the university being quite widespread in terms of size. The Chandra Shekhar Azad University for Agriculture and Technology officially came into existence in the year 1975 but its roots can be traced to as early as 1893 when it was just a small school. The university is known for promoting research and training in agricultural study and methods.
 The university gradually grew through the growth of each and every one of its constituent colleges. 
The target student population is primarily farmers and the aim of the faculty at the university is to provide farmers with basic training in engaging in prosperous and scientific agricultural work. 
The University makes sure of providing best of the best placements to its students so that they can serve to the nation.

Faculty: The university has the following faculties operating under it:
•    Faculty of Home Science
•    Faculty of Agriculture
•    Faculty of Agricultural Engineering and Technology
Facilities:

Hostel: There are as many as twelve hostels spread throughout the different campuses of the university. Out of these, eight are for boys and four are for girls. The hostels have modern facilities operating in them and living here can be a very comfortable experience. 

Library: The university boasts of a large central library that has access to as many as 64,300 books and 4,481 journals, 53 Indian Journals, 21 foreign periodicals & 300 readers at a time. Additionally, recently completed PhD thesis documents are also kept in the library set up for students to access. The ARIS cell of the university has ensured that the library network is well connected to the internet via the V Sat set up. Hence students and teachers can browse the internet for free when they visit the library for carrying out their reference work. 

Medical facility: There is twenty four hour medical care available at both the Kanpur and Etawah campuses of the university. 

Scholarship: Scholarships and stipends are provided to post graduate and research students all through the year. Common sources of funding for these include ICAR, Jindal Trust, Shyamjee Memorial Trust, State Mandi Parishad and the State Government.
