IIHR PhD program is a three-year-long program. Minimum eligibility for getting admission is a postgraduate degree in Plant Pathology.
Admission is a two-step procedure. First, an entrance test is conducted by IIHR Bangalore. Those who clear the test will have to undergo a personal interview by faculty members.
Before giving the entrance exam a candidate has to fill an application form using the link (https://www.iari.res.in/). The cost of the application is INR 1000 which can be paid online.
The Indian Council of Agricultural Research has awarded the institute the Best Institute Award. The institute has received the Sardar Patel Outstanding ICAR Institution Award.

The Entrance Examination will have one question paper with three distinct parts. The questions will be of multiple choice and matching types in parts I & II (30 marks and 150 marks, respectively) and short analytical type in part III (30 marks).
The duration of the PhD course at IIHR Bangalore is 3 years. The course is divided into 3 trimesters.
