University of Rajasthan (UNIRAJ) offers a full-time on-campus Ph.D. program which is for 3 years duration. A PG with a minimum of 55% marks is required to be eligible for admission in the Ph.D. program here. It offers this course in around 8 different departments across widely distributed disciplines of study.

UNIRAJ Ph.D. Eligibility

Candidates should have completed a master’s degree or equivalent in relevant subjects from a recognized university in India or abroad with a minimum of 55% marks or 5.5 CGPA in aggregate. However, in the case of SC/ST candidates, the minimum marks required shall be at least 50% as per govt. guidelines.

UNIRAJ Ph.D. Admission Guidelines

Admission to the Ph.D. program at UNIRAJ is done based on the entrance test Uniraj-MPAT conducted by the university. The number of Ph.D. scholars to be admitted depends on the availability of seats with the research supervisors and is decided on an annual basis by the university

Applications for Uniraj-MPAT are invited once in a year. The advertisement for admission will be made on the university website and 2 national newspapers

Application Procedure

• Visit the university’s official website and register.
• After registration, user ID and password will be received by the candidates
• Login using the received ID and password
• Fill-in the correct personal details and educational background as instructed.
• Upload the photograph, relevant documents, and submit the application form after submission of the payment.
• An entrance examination will be conducted at the campus for the students who have filled the application form except for those who have already appeared for NET/SET/GATE.
• Students who have cleared the entrance examination will be called for a personal interview with university teams.

UNIRAJ Ph.D. Selection Procedure

The admission process to this course is held in two phases.

Phase 1- This phase is applicable for those candidates who are exempted from UNIRAJ-MPAT and it will consist of the following categories.

• The candidates who have qualified UGC NET/CSIR Exam or INSPIRE/ SLET Exam and Teacher fellowship holders.
• Candidates who have been selected in M.Phil through UNIRAJ-MPAT and have qualified their M.Phil Exam.
• Teaching candidates who are selected on a substantive basis by the duly constituted selection committee as per UGC qualification with 2 years of continuous service in any University Teaching Department or affiliated colleges of any University on a regular pay scale.

Phase-2 - If seats for Ph.D./M.Phil. remains vacant in a particular course after completing the phase 1 process then applications will be invited for the entrance examination or UNIRAJ-MPAT.

The applicants who have qualified CSIR NET/SLET/UGC/ INSPIRE but failed to get admission in phase 1 against 40% reserved seats are able to apply in UNIRAJ-MPAT Phase-2 to get admission against remaining seats.
