The candidates must submit the following documents at the time of admission:
Stella Maris will be an excellent choice for you if you are a student who is solely concerned with academics.
If you participate in extracurricular activities, you’ll have to work hard to stay below the set attendance limitations, as the institution will not offer you any extra time off. Other institutions outside Chennai provide students a set number of attendance hours for participating in extracurricular activities.
Stella’s rules can be incredibly inconvenient and unnecessary. They usually shut the gates so that you are unable to leave until all of your classes are over. Teachers can also be highly demanding, and instead of having more participatory classrooms, most of them prefer to have more formal ones.
If you’re stuck between Ethiraj and Stella, and you make the merit list at Stella. I recommend enrolling at Stella because the quality of education and the prestige will always be to your advantage.
I have a few friends from Stella Maris College for Women Chennai. Here is their insight.
Overall it is a decent institute with a high reputation and good placement opportunities.
Stella Maris College, Chennai has a number of rules and regulations. Check the following points:
No matter why you miss a class, there will be compensation classes on Saturdays. During the first year, you will have two Saturday sports classes, thus making the schedule more hectic. So If you’re thinking of joining Stella, analyze every detail and check if everything suits your requirements.
WCC Chennai is comparably better than Stella Maris. Both colleges are reputed but WCC gives students more freedom in terms of extracurricular activities, dress code, etc.
In terms of academics, it is good. The faculties are cooperative. The campus placement of WCC is decent. Students receive an average CTC of INR 2.48 LPA.
You are permitted to bring your cell phones onto campus, but you will not be allowed to use them. Your phone and ID card will be confiscated and turned over to the vice principal if you are caught using them.
You will be charged a fine of INR 2000 to get your phone back after three days or more. However, there are a few teachers who simply dismiss the students with a warning. The others, on the other hand, do not.
Put your phone on silent mode or turn it off. If there is an emergency, you can go to the staff room (your department’s) and use it with your teacher’s permission.
I have a friend from Stella Maris College Chennai. Here is what she told me about the admission process at the institute.
Shortlisted candidates from round-1 are called for an interview. In the interview round, you need to bring all the original certificates. The following are the questions that they generally ask.
The interviewer is usually a faculty member from a particular department in the college. An interview doesn’t guarantee that you will get admission. But most of the interviewed students get selected until and unless there is a valid rejection point.
