Ques

Which is better for engineering, GNDU or PTU?

● Top Answer By Adrija Dutta on 08 Sept 21

Ans
Both PTU and GNDU are very reputed and popular colleges for engineering and both of these colleges have their own advantages.  If you want to choose a college based on placements, then go for GNDU as the placement opportunities available here are very good.  If you are getting a seat in the main campus of GNDU, then go for it without any doubts.  But there are some colleges too under PTU, which have decent placements.  The course you choose is as important as selecting a college.  There are some courses where PTU is better but there are some courses too where GNDU takes the lead.  If you want to choose branches such as mechanical, civil, electrical then you should probably go for PTU.  But if you want to opt for courses like CSE or Electronics choosing GNDU will be better.  Categories Engineering at GNDU Engineering at PTU Course Fee 4.78 lakh 3.62 lakh Placement Percentage 70-80% 80% Highest CTC 12 LPA 13 LPA Average CTC 5.5 - 6 LPA 4-5 LPA Recruiting Companies Wipro, Capgemini, Infosys, Oracle, etc. IBM, HP, Accenture, Tech Mahindra, etc. Hence, it now all depends on you on which courses you are more interested in and want to pursue it. So first choose a course and then decide your college based on the course, your interests and requirements.

Which is a better college among CSE, GNDU Amritsar, and CGC Landran, according to placement?

● Top Answer By Maher Sinha on 23 Jul 22

Ans
CGC Landran is the better option for CSE. The department has a good faculty base. The professors try their level best to cooperate with students. There are regular CR meetings, to resolve the problems students are facing. The institute organizes TPP lectures, and training sessions from the first year, itself.  CSE has a 100% placement rate. Microsoft, Google, Adobe, TCS, etc. visit CGC Landran campus placements regularly. The average package for the branch is around INR 3-4 LPA.

Ques

How do I get a transcript from GNDU Amritsar?

● Top Answer By Himanshu Thakran on 21 Oct 21

Ans
Well, the procedure is straightforward. You have to go to the Administration Block and the Transcripts Office on the top floor. You need to submit an application that explains why you require transcripts and lists all required credentials. Furthermore, you must pay a fee that is determined by the number of transcripts you require. Three sets of them used to cost 7000 INR each (one set comprised eight transcripts, one for each semester of B.tech), a few years back. You can pay the fee and receive a token slip from the accounting department. The token must then be submitted to the Administration Block office. They'll most likely tell you to wait a week, but if you're lucky, you'll get them sooner.

Ques

Is GNDU Amritsar good or bad?

● Top Answer By Ankit Jha on 05 Oct 21

Ans
GNDU Amritsar is a good institute. The campus is great and you can experience nature there with a large number of fields and gardens in and around the campus.  I have a few friends who graduated from the institute and here is what they shared about the institute. For the course of graduation in physiotherapy from the sport, medicines, and physiotherapy department, the faculty is interactive and friendly. The students at GNDU feel active all day due to its infrastructure and the greenery found all around the campus. Transportation to the city from campus is cheap and manageable. At the institute, students are supporting many initiatives taken by the Govt. Also, there are many departmental committees that organize various cultural and technical fests. The placements at GNDU are good and many companies visit the campus placements. In the placement drive for 2020-21, the highest CTC offered was 13.50 LPA. Therefore, you can prefer GNDU for any of the courses provided by the institute as it is one of the best universities in Punjab and worth all the money one spends on education.

Ques

Is there any helpful tip to score a good percentage in the GNDU University exams?

● Top Answer By Bhumika Bose on 05 Oct 21

Ans
On the main campus of the University, there is a grading system and the CGPA is calculated based on the grades scored by a student. Therefore, a good CGPA depends on a good grade. The students who score above 81 marks attain a grade of A+ in the particular subject. For the minors, a student gets 3 chances to improve their performance. If a student fails to attain good marks in the first minor then she/he can go for improving the same in 2nd minor or the majors. The syllabus that comes in the minors is less as that compared to the majors. Here are some tips on how to manage your studies for majors and minors. The library has many books and one can make full use of the main University’s library. Try to study the syllabus mentioned on the University’s website beforehand. The schedule gets busy usually on the weekdays and the weekends remain free. Therefore, try to study on the weekends and complete assignments or files. The University teachers are friendly and cordial and will help you to complete the syllabus one misses in the class or is unable to understand. Try to give time to the lectures one misses and complete that on time because there is very little time available once the minors get started. These are some ways through which one can manage the time and attain a high CGPA. Follow these tips positively to do well in your university exams.

Ques

Which is better for engineering GNDU or PTU?

● Top Answer By Arnav Singh on 05 Oct 21

Ans
Both the PTU and GNDU are different in their terms and have their advantages and disadvantages. The GNDU is strict with the examination rules, whereas at PTU rules regarding examinations are quite relaxed in comparison. Choosing PTU or GNDU also depends on which course you are choosing. For some courses, PTU is better, while GNDU is better for others. Here is a brief highlight of the placement statistics for PTU and GNDU. Parameters GNDU PTU Average CTC 3 LPA 3-4 LPA Highest CTC 13.50 LPA 12 LPA Major recruiters Chegg, Amazon, TCS, HDFC IBM, Wipro, Airtel At last, everything depends on the college you want to opt for. If you are coming to Punjab from any of the places they don’t. The private colleges are not that good in the state. Therefore, don’t fall for the private colleges of Punjab.  For any admission, apply for the university campus and not for the private colleges. Instead, take admission in your city or the native place.

How is the environment of GNDU Amritsar?

● Top Answer By Soham Dey, on 10 Nov 21

Ans
One of my friends studied at Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU) Amritsar. According to him, the environment is really good, green and clean.  It has a well-maintained infrastructure. There are big classrooms, auditoriums and renovated hostels for both boys and girls. GNDU Amritsar has an experienced faculty who are known to be very cooperative. The course curriculum is also good as it familiarizes students with the current industry trends. GNDU Amritsar B.Tech placements are really good. Both on-campus and off-campus placements are held. Students maintaining a good overall performance get recruited by top IT firms and organizations. Other departments like Chemistry, Law, Political Science, Food and Technology, Architecture are really good. There is no union of students like a political body makes it a bit better. Very few cultural programs take place here. The library is the most peaceful part of the campus and is accessible to all the students anytime.

Ques

Which college should I prefer between DAVIET and GNDU?

● Top Answer By Vikram Verma, on 10 Nov 21

Ans
GNDU should be preferred over DAVIET, as the degree value of GNDU is more valuable than a PTU degree. The study material and exposure provided remain the same in both institutes. Here are some facts about both these institutes: During placements, some of them do not even consider a PTU degree. Attendance in DAVIET is monitored very strictly and if it falls short it will affect your overall performance.  In GNDU teachers are cooperative and compensate for your attendance by giving assignments. DAVIET is private but GNDU is semi-government. Hence have a better reputation. DAVIET is much like a school with very strict rules and regulations. GNDU is more lenient. Categories DAVIET GNDU Course Fee 3.18 lakh 4.78 lakh Placement Percentage 70% 70-80% Highest CTC 12 LPA 10-12 LPA Average CTC 5 LPA 5-8 LPA Recruiting Companies TCS, Bosch, Infosys, Samsung, etc. Accenture, Wipro, TCS, IBM, etc. In DAVIET, students are not enthusiastic or competitive enough, which makes the overall academic performance mediocre. GNDU on the other hand comprises active students who are very much passionate about their studies hence making the quality of education better.
