Guru Nanak Dev University established the department for distance education named the Directorate of Open & Distance Learning (ODL) in its Main Campus at Amritsar, Punjab in 2018. GNDU ODL has been recognized as a Category-I University by UGC. GNDU ODL Application Process 2024
Admission to all the courses offered under the Directorate of Open and Distance Learning, Guru Nanak Dev University are made on the basis of Merit of Last Qualifying Examination. No entrance tests are conducted for any course under the ODL program.
- After opening the official website students must go to the admission portal.
- Upon entering basic details, a unique login ID and password will be generated for future use. SMS/e-mail shall be sent to the registered mobile number/e-mail ID of the applicant.
- Online registration can be made by filling in the necessary information in the form and payment of the registration fee for each course for which admission is sought.
- After that upload a scanned copy of the required supporting documents for taking provisional admission or attending the online counseling.
- Pay an admission fee of INR 500/-(for General Category) and INR 250/- (for SC/ST Category) through online mode only.

- Learning Materials: Students are provided with self-learning materials in e-format which is accessible from the Directorate’s website as well as in a printed format.

- On-site Classes: The institute conducts “Personal Contact Programme” Classes on Sundays by dedicated faculty members at the institute's Learner Support Centres.

Ans. Yes, students will be provided all the syllabuses of every program by the university GNDU ODL. students need to visit the official website of the learning center and click on the students’ corner there will be a link for the syllabus and can check the syllabus of the concerned program.

Ans. Facilities provided by GNDU ODL like PCP classes that are arranged on the weekends so that working students can attend all the classes and if they have any doubts can ask for clarification by the professors, there are computer labs for the practicals and seminars.
Ques. Is there any refund policy if a student does not want to continue at GNDU ODL after taking admission?
Ans. If a candidate does not join the course and surrenders the seat after getting admission but before the last date of admission or commencement of GNDU ODL PCP classes (whichever is earlier), the fee and funds deposited by such a candidate will be refunded after deducting a processing charge of INR 2000. Ans. Yes, GNDU ODL offers self-learning study material on Student Portal for all candidates so that students can have all study materials whenever they need them. Candidates are only required to log in with the student ID & Password to go through the study material. All the study materials are available in Hard Copy (Printed Format) also.
Ques. Does GNDU ODL have any reservation provision?
Ans. Yes, GNDU ODL provides reservation provision for the reserved categories, there is a 5% relaxation in marks (in aggregate) that will be given for eligibility for admissions only.
Ques. Are the courses under Annual mode or Semester mode in GNDU ODL?
Ans. All the courses under Open & Distance Learning mode are offered in Semester System. The University follows the CBES (Credit Based Evaluation System) scheme to assess and evaluate the students.
