GN College for Women was established in 1969. College is situated on Phagwara-Nawanshahar road. The insignia of the college is 'Service and Sacrifice'. The college campus is built on a large area. The college provides opportunities and facilities to all the students irrespective of any caste, creed and color. Its managing committee functions in complete concurrence and selfless service.

The college has computer science laboratories with Internet facility for students and staff. There is well equipped Home Science lab for home science students. Cosmetology lab is available where students can learn to make hair styles, bridal make up and skin care methods. The college library is well stocked with 25554 books in all subjects. Magazines, journals, periodicals and newspapers fulfills to the needs of students and staff. The college is working under 2nd Punjab Girls Bn. NCC, Jalandhar, since 1972.
