Eligibility Criteria

The minimum qualification for admission to M.V.Sc.programme in COVS shall be B.V.Sc. & A.H. or equivalent degree with minimum OCPA / OGPA of 6.00 (out of 10.00) or at least 60% marks in aggregate from a college recognized by the VCI. The candidate registered with the VCI / State Veterinary Council.

PG Admissions to Inservice Candidates

The minimum requirement for admission to any of the PG courses for an in-service candidate in any of the constituent colleges of GADVASU is an Overall Grade Point Average (OGPA) of 5.50 (out of 10.00), along with the minimum of two years of professional work experience (post the graduation).

Candidates can seek admission for any of the M V Sc / M Sc / M Tech programs, on the basis of the qualifying degree they had in their graduation.

If talking about IVRI, then there are over 240 scientists conducting research work in different fields. Here are some important facts that you may find useful:

If these are the same candidates, pursuing several research projects and academic activities in the PG course, then they also do the same for UG courses as well.
Mainly, the reason behind this is the clinic was extended and also offered several amenities when the UG courses were first introduced in IVRI.
The infrastructure of IVRI is well established.
One of my friends, who belonged from the Physiology department once mentioned having access to over 17 microscopes for a student limit of around 24.
The fee program of IVRI is minimal, with the provision of a variety of scholarship options.
The hostels, library, and mess are equally satisfactory.
There are no strict restrictions imposed upon students.

At GADVASU, you will not need to buy any books. The college library has a great collection of books. Also, most teachers provide printouts of the course materials that they teach in the class. You can get the printout from the photostat store inside the university.

You can buy books if you want to study the topics in advance. Primary Veterinary by R. For LPM and Veterinary, you can choose any reference book that you find helpful. Most students usually refer to Duke’s, Guyton, and Frandson.

Yes, GADVASU is a good college for Veterinary Sciences. In fact, it is one of the best Veterinary Colleges in the country. It has a locational advantage. It is located in the dairy belt of Ludhiana, Panjab. So, you will be able to get exposure to a good number of cases for clinical subjects. The teaching faculty is quite good at the institute too.

According to the recent fee structure, the annual course fee for BVSc & AH is INR 90,255. Including hostel fees, it will cost you around 1.1 lakh per year. Mess charges are separate. GADVASU offers many scholarships to students. Some of the scholarships offered include merit-based scholarships, sports scholarships, ex-serviceman scholarships, etc. There are also separate scholarships if you are applying through AIQ.

I have a friend who attends GADVASU. He got admission to the institute back in 2018. According to him, back then, any student who got admission in college other than home state through AIQ was given a scholarship of INR 3000 per month. The other scholarships that GADVASU offers are University Scholarship, Sports Scholarships, etc.

Among GADVASU and College of Veterinary Science, Pant Nagar the former is definitely a better option for a BVSc and AH. The university has a great campus. The student crowd at the university is good, as most students who top the merit list choose GADVASU. You will get good faculty. The facilities offered at the institute are sufficient.
