There are 2 specializations in M.Phil. and Integrated M.Phil/Ph.D namely: Population Studies and Biostatistics & Demography.
Eligibility
- Candidates must have a Master’s degree in Population Studies/ Demography/ Biostatistics and Epidemiology/ Biostatistics & Demography/ Biostatistics with 55% marks (50% marks for Reserved categories) in aggregate.
- Those who have qualified UGC/CSIR-JRF or any other national level fellowship are also eligible to apply for Integrated M.Phil./Ph.D. course.
- Final year candidates can also apply.
- The upper age limit is 30 years.
Selection Criteria
Selection Criteria for M.Phil:
- Selection to M.Phil. is a 2 stage process: online entrance test and personal interview.
- Candidates first need to appear in the entrance test conducted by the college in an online mode.
- Applicants who qualify the entrance exam will be called for the personal interview.
- Final selection will depend upon students’ performance in both the rounds.
Selection Criteria for Integrated M.Phil/ Ph.D:
- Selection to Integrated M.Phil/Ph.D. is a 3 stage process: online entrance test, written test (research proposal ) and personal interview.
- The online entrance test is the qualifying test.
- Candidates who qualify the entrance test are further called for writing a research proposal and personal interview rounds.
- The final selection is done on the basis of performance in online entrance test, written test and personal interview.
NOTE - The online entrance test will contain MCQs from the following topics: English, Logical Reasoning, Statistics, Mathematics, Biostatistics, Research Methodology, Population Studies, Demography, and Epidemiology.
