VES College of Arts, Science & Commerce (Autonomous) laid its foundation in the year 1979. The institution is permanently affiliated to the University of Mumbai, and is also recognized by the U.G.C. under 2(f) & 12(b). VESASC also holds minority status for the Sindhi linguistic minority. VESASC has been re-accredited by NAAC (3rd cycle) with an A grade (CGPA 3.26) in August 2017. The institute added yet another feather by being conferred with Autonomous Status by the UGC and the University of Mumbai starting from the Academic Year 2021-2022. 

While the college holds autonomy in its courses, the degree is awarded by the parent university i.e., the University of Mumbai. VESASC was also bestowed with the ‘Best College Award’ (Urban Area) by the University of Mumbai for the academic year of 2012-2013 & received a grant from the DST under the FIST scheme as well as the Star College grant from the DBT in the year 2015-2016.

VESASC Scholarship

VESASC offers scholarship to the meritorious students. Listed below are the different scholarship schemes available for the students:

  • V.E.S. Samarthan: This scholarship can be availed only by the students studying in Vivekanand Education Society’s Schools and Colleges. 
  • V.E.S. Welfare: This scholarship is only applicable for the wards of V.E.S staffs.
  • Nihchal Israni Foundation: This scholarship can be availed by any student who has secured academic aggregate more than 65% and family annual income less than INR 4 Lakh per annum.

VESASC offers a number of facilities to the students pursuing a UG or PG course. Some of the facilities are listed below:

  • Library: The college has a spacious and well stocked library. There are about 62000 books, 5000 e-books, 55 Journals and 25 magazines. Library is fully computerized with Online Public Access Catalogue.
  • Computer Lab: There are 3 well equipped computer labs in the college. The systems are constantly updated to cater the current demand.
  • Sports Area: The institute offers 2 acre of outdoor playground which can be used for organising Football, Cricket, Handball, Kabaddi, Kho-Kho and Volleyball matches. VESASC also has indoor game area for the students to enjoy games like Table Tennis, Chess and Carrom.
