Calicut University B.Com Key Highlights

Calicut University charges INR 6,510 for its B.Com course.
This program is offered in both Regular & Distance Education modes.
The total number of subjects (other than audit courses) for the whole B.Com program is 31. This is a semester-based curriculum. Each year comprises 2 semesters. The program includes project work, viva-voce, industrial visits, etc.
The university conducts external & internal examinations and the components are to be taken in the ratio of 1:4.
The fourth-semester students of affiliated colleges will be taken under the supervision of faculty members to business or industrial units so as to enable them to have first-hand knowledge about the location, layout, managerial functions, H R management, or any area of study as per the curriculum.
There are no placemats offered under this program.

Calicut University B.Com Eligibility Criteria

In order to be eligible for B.Com admission at Calicut University, students need to pass 10+2 level with 45% marks in aggregate from a recognized board to be eligible for the B.Com course for the reservation categories there is a 5% relaxation.

Calicut University B.Com Selection Process

Selection will be done on the basis of secured merit in the past qualifying examination and together with previous total marks 25 marks for each commerce paper subject to a maximum of 50 marks. A counseling process will be made on the UG CAP counseling process for admission in UG courses.

Calicut University B.Com Application Process

The candidate can apply through the centralized admission process by following the steps noted down:

As the counseling process will be done by the UG CAP the candidate needs to generate the CAP ID by using credentials like the mobile number, email ID of the applicant.
After filling in all the information and creating a CAP ID and password click on the register button.
Complete the student profile by filling in all the required academic details together with necessary documents and photographs according to the size given in the form.
Save the details and proceed.
Now select the desired course.
After selecting the course click on the final submit and pay the application fees.
Pay the registration fee of INR 280 for general category students and INR 115 for Reservation category students.

Calicut University B.Com Course Details

Calicut University provides admission to the B.Com course for the duration of three academic years with six semesters. Each year consists of two semesters.
The curriculum is on-campus, full-time & regular mode. The whole program holds a total number of 120 credits.
The total number of courses (other than audit courses ) for the whole B.Com Programme is 31.
The program is divided into courses namely:- 1. Common courses 2. Core courses 3. Complementary courses and 4. Open courses.
The program concludes 3 weeks of project work, industry visits & viva-voce. The internal to external components are to be taken in the ratio 1:4.

What is the procedure to get transcripts from Calicut University?

Visit the university website and fill out the Transcript application form. Keep in mind that the fees mentioned are old and it has been revised but the application can be used. Documents required - Duly filled application form Copies of degree or provisional certificate Copies of Marksheets Academic request form Online payment receipt or Challan To get transcripts of more than one course, you need to pay the fees separately and submit separate applications. The transcript application should be forwarded to The Controller of Examinations, University of Calicut, Calicut University (Post), Malappuram district, Kerala - 673 635. Total required fees - Fees per document, search fees (as applicable), postage charge (as required for the destination country), postage charge for personal copy (if opted). The total fees for a course can be submitted as a single challan. The application needs to be submitted by the candidate or by the verification agency/employer. The university takes around 40-50 days from the acceptance of application, to process the transcripts.

Some of the popular cafes are Gudhaam Art Cafe, British Cafe, Adaminte Chaya Kada, etc. There are also places like Jellyfish Water Sports which can be an ideal weekend getaway. You can also go on small trips to nearby places like Wayanad. It is a scenic district next to Kozhikode. There are also many other tourist spots of historical and cultural interest that you can visit.

If you are talking about the same paper then you can’t take the supplementary examination as well as improvement examination in the same semester at Calicut University. Let’s say you fail in paper A in the first semester and scored a B grade in paper B. During the third semester, you can write any paper of the first semester, if you pay the required fees. For paper B you will need to take an improvement examination and for paper A you need to take a supplementary examination.

Calicut University offers 2 types of exams to compensate for below minimum marks: Improvement Exam Supplementary Exam If you are referring to an Improvement Exam to increase marks of an exam you have already given then the answer is no. But if you are referring to the Supplementary Exam to pass an exam you haven’t obtained minimum marks in yet, the answer is yes. There might be some chances for the same. You cannot apply for an improvement paper if you have obtained your provisional degree certificate. This is because once you receive the provisional certificate it means you have successfully passed the course and no further changes can be made. Any more doubts can be further addressed to the University Exam Wing. Just make sure to keep important documents within reach.

You must have a provisional certificate and consolidated mark list, a CSS (Compulsory Social Service) work record, a GPA for each semester (which can also be obtained from the B.Tech section at Pareeksha Bhavan), SSLC, and +2 certificates. To obtain a Provisional certificate and a Consolidated mark list, you must: Pass all of the course subjects. Get your overall GPA for all semesters. Go to Tagore Nikethan and fill out the form for a provisional certificate/mark sheet. Then proceed to the inquiry section and request payment for the same. In Tagore Nikethan, pay for chalan. Fill out the application form now. Take the application form and chalan to the Pareeksha Bhavan B.tech Section. The application will be reviewed, and you will receive both PC and CML by the evening. To obtain a degree certificate, you must apply online through the university's website. These are the required steps.
