Calicut University offers admission to more than 200 courses at the UG, PG, and Research levels. The courses are offered through its 30+ departments and 400+ Government/Aided/Self Financing affiliated colleges. The admission process at Calicut University usually begins between March and June, every year. Registrations can be done online on the official admission portal - admission.uoc.ac.in. Calicut University conducts admissions through a centralised admission process (CAP) that includes UGCAP, PGCAP, and IPCAP for UG, PG, and Intergrated programs, respectively. Admissions to UG courses (except BTech) are merit-based, while PG admissions are done on the basis of both merit and entrance examination. 

Admission to MA, M.Sc, MCA, MSW, LLM, M.P.Ed, and B.P.Ed programs is done on the basis of scores obtained in the Calicut University Admission Test (CUCAT). Calicut University also accepts national and state-level entrance tests such as KEAM/JEE Main and CMAT/CAT/KMAT scores for admission to BTech and MBA, respectively.

In addition to regular programs, Calicut University offers distance learning UG and PG prgrams through its School of Distance Education. Admissions for the same are merit-based and registrations starts between the month of June and September. Check Calicut University Distance Education

Calicut University UG Admission 2023

Calicut University offers various programs at the undergraduate level in the streams of Arts, Science, Engineering, Law, Management, among others. The duration of UG courses is around 3-4 years. The basic eligibility criteria for all UG courses is to complete the 10+2 from a recognised board of education. Calicut University fee for UG courses ranges from INR 5000 - INR 70000 per semester. Admissions are based on merit and conducted through a centralised admission process for UG programs (UGCAP) followed by a seat allotment process. Calicut University UGCAP

Calicut University UGCAP is a centralised admission process for all UG programs. Candidates seeking admission to UG courses at University Departments/Governemt/Aided/Self Financing colleges must register through UGCAP. The selection will be based on allotment lists released by the university. There will be three allotments for all category of students and Two special allotments for SC/ST categories. UGCAP seat allotment process includes:

  • Trial Allotment
  • First Allotment
  • Second Allotment
  • Third Allotment
  • Special Allotment

Upon acceptance of seat allotment in any of three rounds, candidates will have to pay the admission and tuition fee for the respective program. Failing to do so, will result in the cancellation of admissions and such candidates will not be allowed to participate in another round.

Calicut University PG Admission 2023

Calicut University offers various courses at postgraduate level at University departments/University Centres/Affiliated colleges. Calicut University PG courses are offered in the streams of Arts, Science, Commerce, Education, Law, and Management. The basic eligibility criteria for admission to PG courses at Calicut University is to have a bachelor’s degree in the relevant discipline from a recognized university. Admission to PG courses are based on Calicut University Admission Test (CUCAT) scores followed by a centralised admission process (PGCAP). Calicut University PGCAP

Calicut University PGCAP is a centralised admission process for admission to PG program at University Departments and affiliated colleges. Candidates seeking admission to PG program at Calicut University or its affiliated colleges must register through the PGCAP. Admissions will be granted on based on rank secured in the entrance examination followed by a seat allotment process. There will be a minimum of two allotments as the number of allotment depends upon the applications received in that particular academic year. PGCAP seat allotment process includes:

After acceptance of seat allotment candidates are required to report at college for admission. The confirmation of admission will be given after receiving of fee payment.

Calicut University M.Phil & PhD Admission 2023

Calicit University offers M.Phil and PhD programs at the research level across multiple disciplines. The courses are offered for a duration of 2 to 5 years. The 

Basic eligibility criteria for admission is to have a master’s degree from a recognized university/institute. Admissions will be granted on the basis of written test followed by a personal interview conducted by the respective departments.

Calicut University Application Process

The candidate can apply through the centralised admission process by following these steps given below- 

  • Visit the official website of Calicut University - admission.uoc.ac.in
  • Click on “Apply Now” and create a CAP ID by entering all the personal information which include the mobile number, email ID of the student, etc. 
  • After filling in all the details and creating CAP ID and password click on the register button
  • Complete the student profile by filling in all the necessary details such as marks in qualifying examination, uploading of necessary documents photograph according to the size given in the form
  • Save the details and proceed
  • Now select the college course.
  • After selecting the course of a choice click on final submit and pay the fees
  • Pay online registration fees that is INR 420 for general category students and INR 175 for SC and ST students.

Remarks:

The eligibility of the course was to score above 80 percent in class 12. The application form can be found on the college website and the application fees and application dates are also available on the college website. No reservation benefits I have received.

Remarks:

In order to be eligible you have to score at least 70 per cent to get admission to cu. The application form can be found on the college website and from there you can fill out the form. I didn't avail of the reservation benefit so no idea. No improvement is needed everything is easy.

Remarks:

The admission procedure is quite simple at Calicut University and colleges with affliction from the university. Once you completed the 12th then with the transfer certificate and original 12th certificate followed by aadhaar, and TC you can go to any of the colleges for admission. But if you score good marks in 12th through the Calicut university website you can get on the merit list and able to learn free of cost.

The admission process comes through marks. That's meant to cut off. There are 3 types of seats available. One of the merits. 2nd one is management. And third is one community quota. Marks are mainly focused on the admission process

It didn't have an entrance exam. We are applying for the course and college. The college is NAAC aggregated college the college has NAAC A grade. The college comes under calicut university (cu). The application form and application fee and application date are in the college. Each course. Contain a particular cut-off mark

Remarks:

+2 mark is eligibility, good mark and getting a good college under Calicut University. Apply through Calicut University's official site. Reservations are available for sc, obc st, etc. The admission process is good. But it's very lagging.

The eligibility criteria become above 70% in graduation and application forms are available from the college office there should be a small amount for application forms which near 100 and also reservation benefits are available for the sc/ST category

There was no entrance exam for the Bachelor of Arts in Economics at Calicut University. the admission process was through merit and got the seat due to an impressive score in the board examination. No reservation benefits are availed. the admission process is good

What is the procedure to get transcripts from Calicut University?

Visit the university website and fill out the Transcript application form. Keep in mind that the fees mentioned are old and it has been revised but the application can be used.  Documents required -  Duly filled application form Copies of degree or provisional certificate Copies of Marksheets Academic request form Online payment receipt or Challan To get transcripts of more than one course, you need to pay the fees separately and submit separate applications.  The transcript application should be forwarded to The Controller of Examinations, University of Calicut, Calicut University (Post), Malappuram district, Kerala - 673 635.  Total required fees - Fees per document, search fees (as applicable), postage charge (as required for the destination country), postage charge for personal copy (if opted). The total fees for a course can be submitted as a single challan.  The application needs to be submitted by the candidate or by the verification agency/employer. The university takes around 40-50 days from the acceptance of application, to process the transcripts.

There are many things that you can do at Calicut University during the weekend.  You can visit Calicut beach. It is great to take a stroll, especially during the evening.  There are many interesting cafes around the city, especially next to the beachfront. Some of the popular cafes are Gudhaam Art Cafe, British Cafe, Adaminte Chaya Kada, etc.  There are also places like Jellyfish Water Sports which can be an ideal weekend getaway.  You can also go on small trips to nearby places like Wayanad. It is a scenic district next to Kozhikode.  There are also many other tourist spots of historical and cultural interest that you can visit.

Can students having supplementary exam in a semester write improvement exam in the same semester in Calicut University?

If you are talking about the same paper then you can’t take the supplementary examination as well as improvement examination in the same semester at Calicut University. Let’s say you fail in paper A in the first semester and scored a B grade in paper B. During the third semester, you can write any paper of the first semester, if you pay the required fees. For paper B you will need to take an improvement examination and for paper A you need to take a supplementary examination.

Both Calicut and IGNOU offer valid distance education degrees. You can choose any of these institutes for a distance learning course. As degrees offered by IGNOU and Calicut University are UGC-DEB approved.  However, IGNOU degrees are more recognized in the country. For Govt. sector jobs degrees from both these universities are valid and eligible.

Calicut University offers 2 types of exams to compensate for below minimum marks: Improvement Exam Supplementary Exam If you are referring to an Improvement Exam to increase marks of an exam you have already given then the answer is no. But if you are referring to the Supplementary Exam to pass an exam you haven’t obtained minimum marks in yet, the answer is yes. There might be some chances for the same. You cannot apply for an improvement paper if you have obtained your provisional degree certificate. This is because once you receive the provisional certificate it means you have successfully passed the course and no further changes can be made.  Any more doubts can be further addressed to the University Exam Wing. Just make sure to keep important documents within reach.

If you are a student of Calicut University, you will have a lot of extracurricular activities to look forward to. The university has many student organizations and clubs and you have a lot to choose from. Some student organisations, clubs, and activities are listed below: National Service Scheme (NSS) National Cadet Crop (NCC) Sports activities like cycling, wrestling m, hockey, kabaddi, etc. The university conducts championship competitions between the colleges. These champions are made eligible for National Level Competitions. There is a championship in Yoga as well. This helps students establish stable mental health. Add on courses like coaching for civil service examinations, bank coaching tests, and so on. These clubs and organisations help in improving academic performance. These are especially helpful for students who are weak in academics. They can score fairly well if they excel in sports or any other activities.

Whether you can rewrite an examination or not, can be checked on Calicut University’s official website. There is a possibility that they might conduct examinations of that particular subject and year for which you have requested. Also, try visiting Calicut University to check the possibility of a re-exam and its procedure.

The fee for the official transcript from Calicut University is INR 1500/script. But if you are applying the transcript- After 3 years (but within 10 years of the course) - Additional search fees: INR 250 After 10 years of the course - Additional search fees: NR 500 Other points to keep in mind are: Postal charges within India are INR 50 The official transcript is sent by post only If you need the personal copy, it will be handed over to you only after the official transcript has been sent.

How do I get a B.Tech degree certificate from Calicut University?

The following requirements must be met to obtain a degree certificate: You must pass all of the course subjects. You must have a provisional certificate and consolidated mark list, a CSS (Compulsory Social Service) work record, a GPA for each semester (which can also be obtained from the B.Tech section at Pareeksha Bhavan), SSLC, and +2 certificates. To obtain a Provisional certificate and a Consolidated mark list, you must:  Pass all of the course subjects. Get your overall GPA for all semesters. Go to Tagore Nikethan and fill out the form for a provisional certificate/mark sheet. Then proceed to the inquiry section and request payment for the same. In Tagore Nikethan, pay for chalan. Fill out the application form now. Take the application form and chalan to the Pareeksha Bhavan B.tech Section. The application will be reviewed, and you will receive both PC and CML by the evening. To obtain a degree certificate, you must apply online through the university's website. These are the required steps.
