Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (KVASU) established in December 2010 as a full-fledged University, offers education, research and extension services in the field of Veterinary and Animal Sciences. The university is located in Pookot of Wayanad district, in the State of Kerala, South India. KVASU comprises two Veterinary Colleges – College of Veterinary in Mannuthy district and College of Animal Sciences in Pookode district.
The university offers a cluster of Undergraduate (UG) programmes like B.Sc, B.V.Sc and B.Tech and Postgraduate (PG) programmes such as M.Tech, MS, M.Sc and M.V.Sc along with Ph. D programme in different disciplines
Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (KVASU) offers undergraduate programmes like Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech), Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (BVSc.& AH) and Bachelor of Science (B.Sc).
The university provides two specializations in B.Tech, that are Dairy Technology and Food Technology. BVSc.& AH and B.Sc. have only one specialization each.
To apply for all of the UG level programmes one needs to have an aggregate of minimum 50% marks in 10+2 level from an authorized institution.For selection in B.Tech., the candidate needs to have cleared KEAM exam or AIEEA-UG exam. For BVSc. & AH, the candidates have to go through an entrance test NEET-UG, which is regulated by Commissioner of Entrance Examinations of Kerala (CEE) and Veterinary Council of India (VCI). The selection in B.Sc. will be dependent on the marks obtained by the candidate in Entrance Test, Interview and counseling.

The university has a number of different courses to offer at the postgraduate level, that are Master of Technology (M.Tech), Master of Science (M.Sc), Master of Science (M.S) and Master of Veterinary Science (M.V.Sc).
The minimum qualification for all the masters programmes is a graduation degree in the relevant field. For admissions in all of the Postgraduate programmes, the candidates need to appear in an entrance exam which is conducted by the university. Candidates would be selected as per their obtained marks in the exam.

M.Sc. Animal Sciences
KVASU provides P.h. D programme to the candidates under three categories – Veterinary, Biosciences and Climate Change in Animal Agriculture. Candidates willing to apply for Ph.D programme must have at least minimum percentage of marks or the minimum OGPA in the Master’s degree in the relevant subject from a recognized university. The criteria for selecting the candidates is – the qualifying degree marks, a written entrance test and an interview conducted by the university.
