IIT Mandi MTech admissions are based on GATE Score followed by COAP counseling. IIT Mandi offers a 2-year duration MTech program under 7 different specializations. The institute also offers a BTech-MTech integrated course. IIT Mandi MTech Eligibility Criteria 

The eligibility criteria for the said course are as follows - 

• Candidates must have a valid GATE score to be eligible for admission to the M.Tech course.
• For candidates with a B.Tech degree from IITs with a CGPA of 8.0 or above, the requirement of GATE qualification is waived.
• Candidates with BE/B. Tech or M.Sc through distance education or correspondence mode and valid GATE scores are also eligible to apply.
• A student sponsored by a recognized R&D organization, academic institution, government organization, or industry is eligible to apply on a full-time basis. IIT Mandi does not provide any assistantship to such students.
• A candidate with associate membership of professional bodies equivalent to B.Tech and a valid GATE score shall also be eligible to apply with assistantship, subject to regulations approved by the Senate for M.Tech courses.
• Basic eligibility for B.Tech-M.Tech Integrated course is 10+2 in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/ Biology) from a recognized board with at least 75% marks in aggregate (65% for SC/ST/PWD).

IIT Mandi MTech Admission Criteria 

Admissions to M.Tech are provided on the basis of GATE scores followed by COAP counseling. After the completion of 5 counseling rounds, if still seats are left in the institute, then special counseling rounds are conducted. The selection to B.Tech-M.Tech integrated course is based on JEE scores.

How To Apply? 

Application form for the M.Tech course can be filled online by following the below-listed steps:

1. Visit the official website of IIT Mandi and register with a valid e-mail ID and Password.
2. After successful registration, login credentials will be sent through e-mail.
3. Visit the examination portal of GATE.
4. Fill all the required academic, qualification, and personal details and choose the preferred exam center.
5. Upload the scanned copy of the photograph, signature, and category certificate (if applicable).
6. Proceed to pay the application fee via net banking/debit card/credit card. 
7. Submit the application form. Candidates will be called for counseling at the time of final admission.
8. Final admissions are granted by COAP counselling which is conducted in 5 rounds.

GATE 2023 COAP Registration Process

After passing the GATE entrance exam, candidates are to register for the COAP counseling process to secure their admission into IITs, NITs, and other participating institutes. COAP provides a common platform for the registered candidates to make the most preferred choice for admission into an M.Tech. Program in the participating Institutes. 

Eligibility Criteria to Register for COAP 2023

1. The candidate must be a citizen of India.
2. Candidates should have a valid GATE score from 2023/2022/2021.

GATE 2023 COAP Step-by-Step Registration Process:

The candidates can successfully apply for GATE COAP 2023 by simply following the below:

Step 1: Visit the official website of COAP @ coap.iitd.ac. and click on the registration link.

Step 2: Fill in details such as their GATE Registration Number, GATE Paper Code, GATE score, and date of birth.

Step 3: Click on the “Validate” icon and enter the registered email id and mobile number.

Step 4:Click on the “Submit to Register” button.

Step 5: After the registration is successfully done for COAP 2023, the candidates will obtain a Login ID and Password for COAP Login. The same will be sent via Email and SMS.

Step 6: The COAP registration will only be considered complete only if the candidates log in using the Login ID and Password and verify the registration details.

Step 7: After the completion of the above-given steps, the candidate can access the information on offers made by the participating Institutes.

Step 8: In the end, the admission offer will be uploaded to the COAP website and will be tagged with the COAP registration number (same as the GATE registration number without the subject code).
