Placement Experience:

From 6 to 8th-semester students are eligible for campus placements and by campus placement offered this is one of the best universities in India. Many companies visit there such as ONGC, RELIANCE, NTPC, POWER GRID, LARSEN TURBO, etc. Many peoples came here from Wealthy backgrounds so they opt out of campus placement the ratio is around 60% of students who got jobs so that's really excellent comparing others. My plan after getting my degree is to build a construction business of my own after some time working with the family business so I think this institute gave me a lot of information regarding my career.

Remarks:

Eligibility for the course is through two exam results that I've done after completing the 12th that is 1)GUJCET 2)JEE I got very fewer marks in both exams but still civil seats are empty there so I got admission in the third round conducted by University. I find the application form for the university by visiting there as well as Gujarat Government issued choice filling admission process so there I choose this university in the first place. The admission process was really fair and easy to understand so I like the admission process conducted by the university and I'm happy with that.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Exams are very easy to pass. Exams are taken timely. The course curriculum is good and to the point. Faculty members are good. CS is booming so it's an obvious choice. All professors are PhD. Teaching is good.

Remarks:

My admission process was through ACPC (the body which fills seats in Gujarat's engineering colleges). In ACPC merit is 50% of the Board's marks and 50% of Gujcet (Gujarat competitive exam for PCM/PCB) marks. Merit is made by multiplying 0.5 * Board's percentile + 0.5 * Gujcet percentile. My overall merit came to 94 and I got CS in this college. Generally, it requires a 2k rank to get CS in this college. Eligibility is just the PCM course in 12th. The application forms will be updated on the ACPC site generally after 10-15 days of the result announcement. Reservation is EWS, OBC, ST and SC. The admission process was smooth and no real problem was faced.

No need to improve anything in the admission process. Everything is good enough for me. There can be better consultancy for the admission process so that students can get accurate information about the process and the college also.

Generally, students from 4th year are eligible for placements. Almost 20 companies I know of have visited and offers are made but people tend to go outside of India after the degree. The highest really depends on you it was around 25 LPA but the average is 3-5 LPA. The percentage of Students would be 30-40%. My plans are to pursue Mtech after this.

Remarks:

For ECE you need around 80 percentile in Jee before you can get admission. The application form is available on PDEU's official website Fees and dates are also available there. I didn't have any reservations so Can't tell exactly. Improvement in the placement section would be appreciated otherwise it's quite good.

How are placements in PDPU and what is the average placement salary for petroleum engineering?

● Top Answer By Avni Vyas on 19 Jan 22

Ans
Placements at PDPU are really good, as a lot of reputed companies take part in their placement program. They offer proper industrial exposure through internships and industry visits. Petroleum Engineering and Technology students usually receive the highest salary package compared to other branches. Once, ONGC had recruited around 15–20 Petroleum Engineers with a package of around 14–15 LPA. If you compare the average salary package, Petroleum engineers get a package of around 5–6 LPA. Categories Petroleum Engineering at PDPU Course Fee INR 9.73 lakh Placement Percentage 80% Highest CTC 16 LPA Average CTC 8 LPA Recruiting Companies ONGC, Schlumberger, Shell, Reliance, etc. If you have good knowledge and fluent communication skills, combined with a perfect academic performance then you will definitely get placed in one of the reputed companies with appropriate salary packages.

They have a very good curriculum, updated to match the industry norms. The faculties are highly experienced and also includes industry experts taking classes often. The infrastructure of PDPU is well maintained. All departments have their own designated buildings. The campus has 3 libraries. Workshops and Labs are well equipped with the latest technology. They also have a virtual class facility. Their auditorium is one of the best in Gujrat. Hostels are newly established, hence have all the necessary facilities.  The whole campus is wifi enabled. They have sports facilities available in the campus, the sports complex is one of the biggest in India.  Gandhinagar is the capital of Gujarat and the most planned city of India. Which is better for computer engineering, PDPU or IIIT Vadodara?

● Top Answer By Madhav Ghose on 05 Jul 21

Ans
Among the given choices IIIT Vadodara will be a good choice for you. This is a much old institution. The college provides better opportunities to learn and better placements to their students. Whereas, CE was introduced only a few years back at PDPU. Here are some of the reasons why you should choose IIIT Vadodara. Coding Culture: IIIT Vadodara has got better coding culture. In past, students of this college have perticia[ated in GSOC, ACM ICPC and brought good results. Placements: The placement statistics of IIIT Vadodara for the CSE branch are also quite impressive. Here is a brief highlight of the same. Placement percentage 100% Total number of offers received 73 Highest CTC offered INR 43.5 LPA. Average CTC offered INR 13 LPA. Top recruiters Amazon, MathWorks, ICICI Bank As IIIT Vadodara does not have a permanent campus yet, the campus life at PDPU will be comparably better. However, if we consider all other options then IIIT Vadodara is definitely ahead of PDPU.

Ques

Where is life better, Nirma University or PDPU? Which has better placements?

● Top Answer By Tirtha Ghosh on 19 Jan 22

Ans
According to the reviews online, here is a comparison between the two colleges Nirma University and PDPU. The campus life is better in PDPU than Nirma, there are a lot of rules and regulations students have to strictly follow. In Nirma a 85% attendance is to be maintained by the students to be able to sit for the examinations. The overall academic pressure is more in PDPU than Nirma. In Nirma, UG students do not get hostels. Placements depend more on your branch than the institution. CS and IT Nirma are much better than PDPU. Petroleum Engineering is the best in PDPU. Maximum students are hired by ONGC from PDPU. Nirma provides much better transportation facilities than PDPU. Categories Nirma University PDPU Course Fee INR 7.24 lakh INR 9.73 lakh Placement Percentage 70% 70% Highest CTC 12 LPA 10-12 LPA Average CTC 5 LPA 6 LPA Recruiting Companies L&T, Bosch, etc. Hindustan Unilever, Nayara Energy, etc. Lastly, it can be stated that Nirma is slowly deteriorating, on the other hand PDPU is gaining popularity and recognition. So, if you want to pursue Petroleum Engineering go for PDPU, otherwise Nirma will be a better option.

Ques

Which college should be preferred UPES Dehradun or PDPU Gandhinagar?

● Top Answer By Saira Verma on 19 Jan 22

Ans
According to the reviews online, both colleges have their own pros and cons, and here are some comparison points which might help you make an informed decision. The location of both the colleges are good, be it Gandhinagar or Dehradun. The UPES campus is much bigger compared to the PDPU campus. But both are well maintained and facilitated. PDPU provides B.Tech in Petroleum Engineering while UPES provides the same in Applied Petroleum Engineering. The former is considered to be far better and more advantageous than the latter.  Curriculum of PDPU is very well prepared encompassing all major aspects. It has now been bifurcated into upstream and downstream. Placements at PDPU are much better compared to UPES. PDPU is visited by core companies like ONGC but UPES is mostly famous for its relevance among IT companies like Accenture, Wipro, etc. Lastly, it can be seen that PDPU, even being a newer institution has grown a lot compared to other colleges. They are visited by core companies which hire students offering them a salary package of 14-15 LPA. So, it will be better if you go for PDPU as it will give you proper industrial exposure and opportunities.

One of my friends studied at PDPU Gandhinagar. According to him, it, like any other college, has its fair share of pros and cons. The whole campus is wifi enabled. Categories PDPU Course Fee INR 9.73 lakh Placement Percentage 80% Highest CTC 12-16 LPA Average CTC 6-8 LPA Recruiting Companies ONGC, Schlumberger, Shell, Reliance, etc. Overall they offer the best sports facilities, international and national exposure, workshops, job opportunities, etc. Thus studying in PDPU will definitely be fulfilling and worthwhile.

How good is PDPU for liberal studies?

● Top Answer By Archita Bakshi on 19 Jan 22

Ans
One of my friends studied at PDPU with Liberal Studies. His major was International Relations and Environmental Studies. So according to him, the School of Liberal Studies (SLS) is based on 3 pillars which are quintessential to any liberal arts school; Creativity, Critical Thinking and Articulation. Over the course of the first 4 semesters, you have an opportunity to explore a wide range of 30 subjects spanning across the fields of Economics, International Relations, Psychology, Governance and Public Administration, Mathematics, Geography, English Literature, Food Geography, Environmental Law/Studies, Communication, Foreign Languages, Sciences, Theatre, Music, Art, Marketing and History. For the final two years, you have to pick a field to major in and a complementary minor. He has been a recipient of 4 Research Travel Grants, his research include Agriculture, Food Politics, International Relations and Environmental Policy.  The management has supported him in his endeavors and the professors were very cooperative.  Therefore, the SLS provided him a stable platform with the right set of tools, Research Support, Experienced Faculties, Unique and Socratic Pedagogy, Adequate Infrastructure and perspective. The School of Liberal Studies allows one to fully express themselves whether it is in academics, fine arts or sports. You can study everything from Political Philosophy of Ancient Greece to Food Policy in Rural India. It will prepare you for real life challenges and formulate a view based on International and Local Experiences combined with classroom discussions and debates.

How is the placement of CS in PDPU? Is the money worth it?

● Top Answer By Poonam Saha on 19 Jan 22

Ans
The fees that PDPU charges are not only for the education but the overall development of an individual. The campus, classrooms, ambience and its rich and vivid culture will definitely have a huge impact on the students. You will not get such all-round development in sports and other extra curriculars in any other college in Gujarat.  When placements are considered it always stood out among others. The ICT and CS at PDPU was started keeping in mind the need of engineers that will rise for The Jio project of Mr. Mukesh Ambani who is the president of PDPU. So Jio will be hiring many students.

Ques

How is chemical engineering in PDPU compared to chemical engineering in Nirma University?

● Top Answer By Sachin Lakhani on 19 Jan 22

Ans
According to the reviews online, here are some of the facts about both these colleges, and which one will be the better choice for pursuing chemical engineering. Nirma University’s cut off is higher than PDPU. Nirma is a much more established and experienced college than PDPU. Both colleges have highly qualified and cooperative faculty members. The laboratories of PDPU are much more well maintained and upgraded than Nirma, as it is much younger compared to Nirma. The labs in PDPU are all facilitated with modern and updated machinery, required for practicals. PDPU has a complete air-conditioned campus, whereas in Nirma some classes are not fully air conditioned. PDPU being a comparatively newer institution has better, well maintained infrastructure than Nirma. PDPU gives students the proper industrial exposure. They conduct events like ‘International Conference on Chemical Industry (ICCI)’, which happens only in the Chemical Department, no other department has organised a grand event in the last 5 years. Categories Nirma University PDPU Course Fee INR 7.24 lakh INR 9.73 lakh Placement Percentage 70% 80% Highest CTC 13 LPA 8-12 LPA Average CTC 6-7 LPA 7-7.5 LPA Recruiting Companies Reliance, L&T, Worley Engineering, Jubilant Life Sciences, etc. Super Gas, GSFC, Thermax, DCM Shriram, etc. Therefore, it is suggested that you go for PDPU if fees are not your primary concern. Students at PDPU will definitely get better opportunities for chemical engineering than Nirma. Even if Nirma is a more experienced institution, the newer approach of PDPU will always help you get accustomed to the functioning in today’s industries.
