For getting admission into the MBA program at MSU Baroda, you will need to take CMAT. If you get a decent rank, you can apply for the program through the ACPC website. You can fill out your choice for college on the website. If your clear the required cutoff for that year, you will be allotted a seat in FMS (Faculty of Management Studies) MSU.

MSU Baroda is the government university in Vadodara. There are a few things you need to know about MSU Baroda. It has a huge campus, one of the largest in India. Their science faculty is the oldest in the country. It gives a huge exposure to arts graduates. Elections are the major part of this university. There are two major libraries in MSU Baroda, one is Memorial situated at the computer center in MSU and the other is Hansa Mehta. The former is for the juniors and the latter for seniors. Getting admission in the medical and engineering department is tough due to higher cut offs.  There are only two subjects provided in MBA, Marketing and Finance. Canteen facilities are not good but you will get used to it. It provides hostel facilities to both boys and girls which are affordable and have proper security. The placements here are good, with some of the top companies taking part in the placement program like Godrej, Amazon, Wipro and IBM.

One of my friends studied in DDU and after gathering some information online, I can give you a proper comparison. Analyzing this you will be able to make your decision. DDU has an edge over MSU, when comparing CSE departments. MSU's programming events at their annual technical festival, FootPrints, was also disappointing. They use outdated equipment in their labs and the overall competition was not as good as DDU. The Computer Engineering course of DDU has programming languages and technologies early on in the 4 year duration and core CS theory subjects after, unlike MSU.  Java is taught in DDU in the 3rd sem but in MSU, it comes in the 6th.  Web technologies are introduced in DDU in the 4th sem unlike MSU .If you choose DDU, expect lots of exams and strict rules.  FootPrints at MSU happen at a much larger scale than DDU's Felicific.  The DDU schedule will keep you busy and focussing less on extracurricular activities. MSU hostels have received a lot of student complaints. In comparison, DDU's hostel is more comforting. One of my friends recently graduated from MSU Baroda. Let me share some of the points she mentioned about the college, which might also help go through your first year of college. The faculty of MSU are highly skilled and experienced in their respective fields. It will take some time to get used to the culture and the overall environment. If you are fluent in Hindi or Gujrati, adjusting here will be no problem. It will take time to get used to the daily food also as they have their unique way of preparing them which is quite different in every other state. The weather here is quite humid, if you are used to dry weather and extreme winters it could take some time adjusting.  MSU as a university is a very open and independently cultured place. You will have the complete freedom to explore the place and build your personality as well. Many events are also held in the campus which brings everyone together. These include DJ nights, Navratri celebrations, and sponsored events. The day of the exams are hectic and teachers prefer their students to mug up information rather than actually understanding it. Overall it is a really nice place. In your first year you will get to interact with lots of students and will also have enough time to explore the place. After your first year the pressure of the studies increases so, it is suggested that you explore most during your first year.

After doing some research online about these colleges, I found out that mostly students prefer DDU. It would be better in all the ways from campus to placements. The campus of DDU is very good. The infrastructure is well developed. All the required facilities are provided and they are fully functional. The labs are well maintained. The teaching faculty is very good and much better than LD and MSU. The academic curriculum at DDU is better than LD and MSU. Companies such as Infosys, GSFC, Reliance, Wipro visit for hiring. You may also want to know that why they do not prefer LD: It is a Government institute and it comes under Gujarat Technological University. The exams are conducted at odd timings. The schedule is not followed well and vacations are not given at the proper time. The students do not get time to learn anything or do internships. The labs are poorly maintained and not functional. The teaching faculties are not good and supportive. Students have to do self study. The only advantage of studying at LD is that it gets a good number of companies as it comes under GTU. Companies such as TCS, Accenture, Cybage, Persistence, HSBC, elite core, Wipro, matrix visits for hiring. The students passing out from DDU have more skills and knowledge compared to other students. So, overall, DDU would be a better option.

At MSU Baroda a maximum of 2 ATKT is allowed at the end of the year. If you have more than 2 ATKT, you will have to repeat the year. If you have any ATKT from the first year pending, after 2nd year, you won’t be able to continue to 3rd year. You need to clear the pending ATKTs to enter 3rd year. It’s the same in 4th year, it’s called the golden ATKT. At MSU, failure in viva is also counted as ATKT. 

There are a few interesting options to explore at the weekends in Vadodara. If you stay in MSU hostel and do not have any vehicle to commute then you can check on the following things: Visit to Kalabhavan, which is located nearby. Various cultural fests are organized here. Sayaji Baug is another option, if you love nature. You can also ride the joy train. Bandstand in Sayaji Baug has various Rock Bands perform live every alternate Sundays. If you are interested in watching a movie, Inox seven seas is nearby. If commuting is not an issue then you can explore some outskirts of Vadodara like - Sindhrot, Zarwani waterfall in Shoolpaneshwar, Jambughoda wildlife sanctuary, S-cube waterpark, Hathni waterfall (in monsoons), Kabirvad and Champaner. If you are fond of historical sites and spiritual places then you can visit - The Lakshmi Vilas Palace, The Nazarbaug Palace, Qutbuddin Tomb, Tambekar Wada, Makarpura palace, Kirti Mandir and many more.

MSU Baroda offers both Boys and Girls hostels. They are really well maintained and have all the necessary facilities. The hostel has 4 halls of residence which are HM hall, SD hall, KG hall and PG hall. The food provided is affordable and healthy. Each hostel has their own mess.  Hostel fees is 10000 out of which 3000 is security fee which is refundable. There are 4 seater and 6 seater rooms at the hostel.  Those doing Masters are generally given 4 seater rooms and undergraduate students get 6 seater rooms.  There are also rooms available for PhD students. The rooms and washrooms are cleaned regularly. They are spacious and well ventilated.  You would be getting your own bed, table, chair and almirah. The hostel timings are from 6:00am to 9:00pm.  The hostel has a tennis court, badminton court, cricket and football ground. The bus and railway station are nearby. Thus transportation is easier.

It depends on the course you are willing to pursue. As one of my friends is an alumni of MSU and also knows about LD, I can help you with the question.  According to him, if you are willing to study engineering then MSU would be a better choice than LD. The overall academics and curriculum is better at MSU, whereas LD has a somewhat better reputation among industries than MSU.
