MSU is a public university owned by the State Government of Gujarat. It is the only University in Gujarat whose Vice Chancellor is from the royal family of Baroda and not the governor of the state. The departments available at the university include Arts, Education and Psychology, Commerce, Technology and Engineering, Law.
