NIT Silchar 2024 Admission Updates

NIT Silchar MBA admission 2024 are ongoing now. The college is accepting applications for MBA admissions and the last date to apply is March 31, 2024.
NIT Silchar BTech admissions are based on the JEE Main Score. The JEE Mains examination (session 1) is scheduled to take place from January 24 to February 1, 2024.

NIT Silchar admission to UG, PG and Ph.D. courses in 20 departments is primarily based on national-level entrance exams. Among all programmes, B.Tech is considered the flagship course offered at NIT Silchar with an approved intake of 884 seats. Admissions to NIT Silchar BTech course are made on the basis of seats allocated by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) from the list of candidates selected by JEE Main. Usually, JOSAA counseling for B.Tech admissions takes place in the month of July/ August. The NIT Silchar B.Tech course Fee is INR 5.54 Lakhs in most streams. NIT Silchar B.Tech Admission 2023

NIT Silchar offers B.Tech program in 6 specializations to its students on regular mode. Admission to the course will be based on the marks secured in JEE Main and JoSAA counselling.

NIT Silchar B.Tech Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must have passed higher Secondary Examination (12th) qualified candidates from a recognized board of education.
Candidates are required to appear for the JEE Mains exam

NIT Silchar B.Tech Selection Criteria

Admission will be based on the performance in JEE Mains along with JoSAA.
Seat allocation to the selected candidates of JEE Mains will be done through Joint Seat Allocation Authority.

How to Apply?

Register for JEE Main exam.
Enter the personal, academic details and upload Scanned Images of Candidate’s Photograph and Signature.
Pay the application fee through Debit card/ Credit card/ Net banking/ UPI/ PAYTM by following the online instructions.
After successful payment, print the Confirmation Page and keep it for future reference.

NIT Silchar M.Tech Admission 2023

The institute offers a 2- year M.Tech program on a regular basis in Specializations . Candidates can also enrol in Dual Degree programs which are of 5 years. Admission to this program is offered on the basis of GATE exam/JEE Advanced Exam score.

NIT Silchar M.Tech Eligibility Criteria

A pass at the undergraduate level from any recognized university/college in the country. A minimum of 60% aggregate is required.
Only B.E. or B.Tech. degrees are accepted. The undergraduate course must have been in a field related to the Master’s subject.

NIT Silchar M.Tech Selection Criteria

Selection will be according to the performance and GATE score.
Once the GATE scores are released,the board conducts the counselling process for the selected candidates on the basis of their rank.
In this stage, candidates submit their documents for verification and asked to select the institute of their choice.
The COAP portal then sends the acceptance letter to the shortlisted candidates and offers them a seat in the institute of their choice.

NIT Silchar MBA Admission 2023

NIT provides an MBA course into 3 specializations of Marketing, Finance and Human Resource. Admission to the course will be based on academic performance, Marks secured in CAT/MAT/CMAT along with group discussion and interview.

NIT Silchar MBA Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree with 55% or 6.0 CGPA/ CPI in total aggregate. A relaxation of 5% or 0.5 CPI/ CGPA granted to those who belong to Scheduled Caste (SC)/ Scheduled Tribe (ST)/ Person with Disabilities (PwD) category candidates.
A candidate must have appeared in CAT/ CMAT/ MAT with a minimum cutoff of 50 percentile in order to eligible for NIT Silchar MBA admission
Those who are pursuing their final year of graduation are also eligible to apply for NIT Silchar MBA admission
The bachelor degree in distance mode recognized by DDE and IGNOU are eligible for NIT Silchar MBA admission

The University offers doctorate level programs as well in almost all disciplines under the Institute. Applications are accepted for these programs in two batches, the first being the July – December batch where applications close towards the end of the month of April.

NIT Silchar PhD Eligibility Criteria

The course that I took was JEE MAINS. The eligibility for this course is min 12 pass and min grade of 75% at my time but not been changed to 65%. The form is available on the internet it occurs the duration of Sept - Nov. The application fee varies according to the agreement as obc gen is almost 700 and for sc-st and girls it is 500 reservation benefit is according to the rank the particular rank is available for the different candidates and the cutoff release according to the candidate is got selected.

NIT Silchar a good place to study

Remarks:

For admission in this nit Silchar, I have to clear JEE mains and I cleared it and the CRL rank including reservation was eligible to get into this NIT. The admission process was smooth. And we need to pay 15000 to jossa to apply for counseling and we need to set the preference order according to our choice there will be six rounds we can be able to change our preferences one time. And we need to fix a college that comes to us in counseling and then we get admitted.

The admission directly depends on your JEE score. The admission is processed through JOSAA, where you can fill out your application form, the cost of application fees is equal to 2000-3000 in JOSAA and application dates are mostly after the completion of JEE Advance exam. And after the JOSAA round is completed the documents are verified in offline while joining the campus. Reservation is provided to SC, ST, OBC, Gen-EWS, and PWD students.

A Honest Review on NIT Silchar.

Remarks:

I have got admission to NIT Silchar through JEE mains. My JEE rank was around 28k so I got a seat in Electronics and Communication Engineering at the NIT Silchar in the 1st round itself through Home State Quota as I am a student of Assam only. The process of JOSAA is quite easy. They conduct 6 rounds of counseling before the counseling you have to enter your choices of college and your preferences on the JOSAA website. It is a 1-month long process. You can wait for the 6th round to complete or you can freeze your seat at any stage of the round. I have personally slide my option. After you accept your seat you have to pay a seat acceptance fee of 35k to JOSAA which directly goes to your allotted college. The main work starts once you physically report to your college, there you have to submit all the original documents you have submitted during JOSAA counseling and pay the remaining part of your fees. After all this process you have finally got admission to your dream college.

One of my close friends graduated from the CSE department of NIT Agartala. I have friends from NIT Silchar and NIT Mizoram as well. Based on what I heard from them, I will say that NIT Silchar is a better option. The reasons why NIT Silchar is better than the other two institutes are as follows. NIT Silchar is ranked better than NIT Agartala and NIT Mizoram by NIRF. NIT Silchar has a better placement record. Students mostly prefer NIT Silchar over NIT Agartala and NIT Mizoram. So, it has a better opening and closing JEE/AIEEE ranks. The difference between NIT Silchar and NIT Agartala is minimal. Both of these two are tier 2, old NITs and have similar pros and cons. NIT Silchar is marginally better than Agartala. However, the latter is catching up quite quickly. NIT Agartala has the only supercomputer in the North East. ISRO has opened an incubation center in NIT Agartala, which is the first in India. Even, few companies choose to conduct joint placement drives for NIT Agartala and NIT Silchar. So, there is not much difference between NIT Silchar and NIT Agartala. If you are getting your preferred branch at NIT Agartala, don’t choose NIT Silchar over it. As for NIT Mizoram, it is a fairly new institute and needs time to catch up with the other two institutes.

My brother is from NIT Silchar and this is the best thing that ever happened to him. But also every institute has its own advantages and disadvantages. Pros: Weather: Pristine green and calm climate, No pollution, Beautiful lakes, and amazing tea gardens. Professors: The teachers here are extremely friendly. They will advise you on your future choices and point you in the right direction. Other Activities: Apart from your academics, you have the freedom to explore your hobbies or create new ones, develop other skills, go on a tour to nearby amazing places like Mizoram, Shillong, Sikkim, Twang, and so on. Internet: The best thing among all facilities is unlimited internet access. Many colleges have high-speed internet, but they do not provide unlimited access without a time limit. It is better than NIT Silchar in terms of education, faculty, placements, and infrastructure. The college has a very welcoming atmosphere and beautiful infrastructure situated near the banks of river Ganga. The academics at the college are really worth it. All the faculty members and all the students are studious. You will get hands-on experience through various mini-projects assigned at the end of the first year and the knowledge gained on the various advanced topics is very helpful in the third year. The campus of IIEST Shibpur is a completely ragging-free zone where no student is harassed and if any such case is found strict actions are taken immediately. The hostel life is really worth remembering for all the students. For the entire four years, you develop bonds with people from different regions, cultures, and financial backgrounds.
