Course Description

Vignan University offers M.Tech programs at postgraduate level across 9 specializations. The courses are offered by the respective departments of the university. The registration is completed through online mode. Candidates can apply for the same on the official university website.

M.Tech is offered for a span of 2 years.
It is a full time regular course.
The basic eligibility is a BE/ B.Tech degree in relevant disciplines.
Selection is based on the candidate's merit in the state/ national/ university level entrance exam.

Vignan University M.Tech Eligibility Criteria

Candidates seeking admissions to the M.Tech program of Vignan University shall fulfill the below mentioned eligibility criteria:

Candidates must have a valid BE/ B.Tech degree in relevant disciplines with an aggregate of 50% marks.
Candidates must appear for and qualify any of the GATE/ PGECET/ VUCET entrance exams.
Foreign/ NRI candidates born on or after 1st July 1996, passed in qualifying examination with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks are also eligible for admissions.

Vignan University M.Tech Admission Guidelines

Applicants interested in the M.Tech program of Vignan University will be selected based on the merit and ranking in the GATE or PGCET. The university also conducts its own entrance exam namely VUCET.

A common merit list will be prepared and admission will be completed solely on the basis of rank and score in the entrance exam.
Students shortlisted will be required to appear for the document verification process.
5% of total seats are reserved for International students.

How to Apply?

Applicants have to visit the official website for online registration.
Registration should be done by the applicants with the relevant details (name of the applicant, phone number, date of birth, course preferences). Submit the form.
To proceed further applicants can fill the application form in both online and offline mode (through DD).
If applicants are filling through online mode complete all the relevant details and submit the same for further proceedings
If a candidate is granted permission for admission he/she shall submit all the original documents to the admission office.

Courses of Study: The two year M.Tech program is divided into four semesters. Students have to study the required theory and practical in the 1st year in two semesters whereas students will be required to complete the project work under the guidance of a faculty member in the second year, i.e., in the III & IV semesters.

Attendance: A candidate must maintain 75% attendance in every subject to be eligible for end semester examinations. Shortage of up to 10% in attendance in any subject may be condoned by the university. A candidate shall get a minimum required attendance at least in 3 theory subjects to get promoted to next semester.

Evaluation and Examinations: Below are the highlights:

Each semester comprises 100 marks for theory and 100 marks for practical.
For the theory exam, 60 marks shall be awarded based on the performance in the end semester examination, 40 marks shall be awarded based on the internal evaluation.
The internal evaluation will also include 20% of the marks secured in the two mid-term examinations, 15% for the Seminar/ Projects/ Assignments and 5% for attendance.
For practical exams, 60 marks shall be awarded based on the performance in the end semester examinations, 40 marks shall be awarded based on the day-to-day performance as Internal Marks.
Candidates must maintain a minimum aggregate of 50% marks in each semester.
Project/ Dissertation work will be conducted in 2 phases and each phase will carry a weightage of 24 credits.

Award of M.Tech Degree: Students who complete their course of study for not less than two academic years and complete all the academic requirements shall be eligible for the award of M.Tech degree.

Ques. What is the offline mode of application for M.Tech admissions at Vignan University?

Ans. For offline application procedure, candidates must download the application form from the official institute website. The filled application along with the DD for INR 1000 drawn in favour of VFSTR Application Account, payable at Guntur should be sent to the following address so as to reach before the last date specified. Candidates should write their name and address on the reverse of DD.

Ques. When is the M.Tech admission of a student cancelled by Vignan University?

Ans. The admission offered to a M.Tech candidate, provisionally admitted to the programme will be cancelled if he/ she does not submit the relevant documents in original pertaining to admission to the Dean-Admissions before the date stipulated in the admission offer. In case any discrepancy is noticed even at a later point of time after admission, the management reserves the right to cancel the admission.

Ques. Does Vignan University offer scholarships to all M.Tech students?

Ans. 25% of the total intake capacity seats in each department are reserved for scholarships. Out of that 5% seats with 100% scholarship, 10% seats with 50% scholarship and 10% seats with 25% scholarship. Scholarships will be applicable for subsequent years only if the student is promoted with 70% of marks in the preceding years without any backlogs.

Ques. What is the fee structure of the M.Tech program offered by Vignan University?

Ans. There are two types of fees structure for two groups of students:

Category A who are GATE/ PGECET/ VUCET qualified with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks
Category B passed in the qualifying exam with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks

Fees for category A:

Admission fees is INR 10,000 (1st year)
Tuition fees is INR 1,00,000 per year

Admission fees is INR 20,000 (1st year)
Tuition fees is INR 2,00,000 per year

Vignana University is a decent option for pursuing a B.Tech degree. Academics are up to the mark. The university has a good faculty base. The professors are cooperative and help students with their problems. The university offers good placements to students. 2020 placements highlight states Viganan University highest package to be INR 7 LPA. Placement offers are usually limited in the software sector.

Both institutes will offer you placements in the field of software and very few core company opportunities. The architecture course in KLU is good and maintains discipline. In terms of campus and infrastructure, KLU has a superior view. Vignan University, on the other hand, has an average campus. You must choose KLU as it is updated with the latest education policies and equipment. In the placement drive held in KLU in 2021, the results have been near perfect when it came to placing the students in companies and firms that are reputed, in turn, resulted in 100% placement. A total of 65 students got placed and the highest package offered to the students was INR 7 LPA. The average package offered was 3.5 LPA. More than 60 companies visited the campus. TCS offered 267 jobs and Cognizant offered 121 jobs.

For CSE, KLU is better. The department has a great faculty base. KLU follows a well-designed curriculum. Students do real-time projects as a part of their coursework. KL University placements are great for CSE. According to 2022 placement highlights the average CTC offered was INR 9.7 LPA. While the highest CTC offered was INR 55 LPA. Accenture, IBM, Gene Tech, etc. are among the major recruiters that took part in the placement drive.

Among GITAM and Vignan, the former is a better option. GITAM is far better than any private college in Andhra Pradesh. The course fee is high but the quality of education and the culture on campus make up for it. Along with theoretical knowledge, you will get to learn the practical aspects of each subject. The placement record for the institute is great. In 2021, the highest CTC offered in the placement drive was 19 LPA. If you are interested in CSE and have a flair for coding then GITAM will be the better option.

Some of my friends are students at Vignan University. According to them, it was quite satisfying, the overall performance of this institute. They mentioned some facts about the college, which might give you a clear idea about it. The main attraction of colleges is their infrastructure, as it is quite good. Moreover, the seminar halls are well constructed and the hostels are well maintained and hygienic. This university enrolls the students in both Management and Technical courses. Moreover, the timings of both the programs are different. The college for both the programs begins at the same time i.e. 8 AM. For the students of management, their classes end at 1 PM and for B.Tech students, the classes end at around 3:30 PM. The lecturers are also quite cooperative and are good to the students. Also, they are available for students at least 3 to 4 times a week. Moreover, the students aren’t restricted to do anything outside the classroom, they are free to sit on the campus near the beautiful nature. The most appreciated thing in hostels is the mess, the food is so delicious than any other colleges’ mess. The food quality and quantity is really good, like the IITs. The food definitely won't disappoint you. A total number of 1540 students got placed this year in prominent companies such as CS, Concentrix, FACE, Westline, Aliens Group, CTS, Infosys, Teleperformance. There is a uniform code for not only girls but also for boys. It is compulsory to wear and the college has some spare days when you are allowed to wear casuals i.e. Wednesdays and Saturdays. Boys can wear t-shirts with polo collars as round neck t-shirts are prohibited. For girls, Indian wear is a must and should be followed. Moreover, the students of final year aren’t restricted with the dress codes, they can wear casuals every day.

My sister studied at Vignan University. It was not the best experience for my sister but it may be different for you. Vignan University has a high course fee. For a 4-year long B.Tech, you will have to pay around 9 lakhs in total. The university charges nearly 2 lakhs per annum without hostel accommodations. The faculty base is good. Most of the faculty are graduates from NIT or IIT. Placement record of the institute is not that great. From my sister’s batch, only 400 students out of 1200 got placements. The remaining 66% graduated without any placement offers. The environment of the institute is not that good. There is caste-based politics on campus. If you have other better options, then you should go for them, instead of VIgnana University.

Hearing about Vignan University from one of my friends. I can say that his overall experience there was not that good. Here are some of the reasons why: The students aren’t treated well and caste discrimination is everywhere around the campus. Many students have witnessed that the chairman of the college himself is into such practices. There are strict rules that have to be followed by the students. If the students fail to attend the class during the study hours, their attendance will be cut without any prior notice. No extracurricular activities take place in the college. Sometimes students get indulged in bad habits such as gamblings. The college will keep on charging high amounts in the form of fees and they charge different amounts from different students. The placement opportunities are also not good. Thus, it is advised that don’t choose this college as it will only waste your valuable time and money. Keep looking at other colleges which are better than Vignan University.
