I applied for other north campus colleges of delhi university . This college was my 3rd preferance college wise . For taking admission in colleges of central university a centralised exam takes place called CUET UG . I scored decent marks which landed me this college . if i could have scored more i might have gotten others but this college has the most multidisciplinary combinations for ba students as compared to others so i knew beforehand that i was going to get this one only . Also our college held NIRF ranking 1 for the last 7 years so that was also taken into consideration in placing it over others.
strength of a class varies from 15 students to 150 students . Overall ba prog has around 700 students every year . It is a girls college . There is diversity as the students comes from all parts of india . The teaching medium is english with a bit of hindi . We do have marks for paying attention in class called as continuous assessment but usually they are in the form of quizzes and assignments . Very few students attend classes for actually studying , most of them are there only to make their attendance better and get those 5 marks of attendance .
The avg placement package of the college is 5 lpa . Only the students of economics hons nd maths hons gets the most placement possibilities . The highest lpa is around 7 . FOr my course ba prog specific placements are not there as such . Most of the students do not come to delhi university in arts courses for placements . Most of them are here for exposure and the either they will go for higher studies or government exams . So there is less scope of placements
There are no final placements as such . There is a student run placement cell in the college which brings several internships and placements for the college . Most of them are for economics and maths students but others also do get chance in few of them . There is no company which hires in bulk as our college is more focused towards arts and scieences and there are usually less placements in arts . In my courses there is no subject specific placements as such.
The fees is very affordable compared to other colleges as it is a government college . The fees is to be paid for a year altogether . The fees is less than 15k for my course . Other than that you are also required to pay an examination fee every semester while filling the examination form which is around 1200 to 1400 depending on your subjects . SO overall if you are pursuing ba from this college then you will have to pay around 50k for 3 years for official purposes . And for residence most of the students resides in pgs in the campus area . They come in all ranges .and for hostel there is a different fee for odd and even semester although last year we have seen a 6k hike in hostel fees . I am not aware about much regarding the hostel as i don't stay there . Financial aid is providd to students with low income group . Several scholarships are provided to university students of low income group and apart from hostels in college there is a girls university hostel as well with very less fee.
The college campus has a tennis court and a basketball court . Other than these games the college has a volleyball , handball and several other sports team . The players practice in the morning before the classes or in the evening . The college have an outdoor gym and the indoor gym is not big enough to accomodate students so no one really uses it . The campus does not have a swimming pool . The auditorium and library are big and spacious . BOoks are accessible but few books for upsc preparation cannot be issued . There are also e resources for all the students . The hostel is in the college campus itself . Apart from the main college canteen there is a millets canteen a nescafe and a oam cafe all of which are very affordable and good . The college have a medical practioner as well as a councillor. The overall campus life is very vibrant and going . There are several cafe places around the campus and as the college is in delhi people go to so many places and experience different cultures . The night life is also quite happening as the university organises several fests and events in the campus and othere concerts also takes place in delhi . The safety is not to the fullest in the camous as women get attacked several times . EVery college in the university have their fest so there are so many things to enjoy from . Last year in our college nikita gandhi performed . There are several societies and clubs in the college . There are so many fields to choose from that you will get wht your interests are . there are also international students in the college and they also have their own separate hostel .
Hostel is allocated on the basis of merit . Our girls hostel is the only one in the university without any curfew timings . College hostel has a separate student union whihc organises several events and festivals . The food quality is okayish . The hostel is always guarded the day scholars are not allowed to enter the college campus . The hostel rooms are very spacious but i do not know much about the hostel as i do not reside in one . It is double sharing and they do not have air conditioner . It gets very hot teherr . There is a common room where al the functions and events takes place as well as the beautiful and spacious garden / lawns .
The admission process involve sitting for an exam called CUET UG . It is a simple exam whose preparation can be done from home without any coaching . After the exam scores a preferance list is made by every student depending on what course and college they prefer more over the other . The semester starts for 1st years from around aug 1 to 15 . TO get into north campus in ba your score should be around 650+ and also reservation also changes this for everyone . OTher than cuet one can get admission through extracurriculars which includes dancing , singing , drama , sports etc.
• Easy and knowledgeable curriculum. • Practical knowledge is a good prospect of my subjects while repetition of Class 12 curriculum in a negative side • Mid sems and Semester exams (2 times in a Semester) alongwith internal assessments and continuous evaluation tests. • Generally, classes time ranges between 9-5:20 with 1 hours break. Sometimes, it may be from 10-3:20. • Yes, 67% of minimum attendance is required. Attendance carries marks. A student with more than 85% of attendance will have a complete 6 marks of attendance and it will decline with a decline in attendance accordingly. • I'll admire the faculty of commerce a lot due to their approachable attitude. Moreover I can't say anything about other facilities since it's only a month I've been into this college and I've not explored much lately.
Students are eligible for campus placements from 4th year or 6th semester, you need to clear your backlogs by 4th semester to get a chance to appear for campus placements. There is a career development cell which takes care for the placements. Till now only a few companies whose names are not disclosed to us have visited us but not a lot of students could clear their test, which makes is a worry for others. The first batch is yet to pass out so there is no clear picture of how much package is offered to students and the percentage of students getting placement. My plans after getting degree is to start my own tech startup with the knowledge I gained in college.
The exams are pretty good at they are only taken at the time when we are required like two times in a year or you can say in a semester and also the exams are like not too long or two short their moderate and very good to get past and also to get good marks
the course curriculum at jmc is well structured and offers a solid foundation core subjects. what made me choose BCom honours is the range of elective is that let me focus on what my interest is in and what is great for personalising my studies. The curriculum enclose real world topics are prepare me for actual situation, which are really helpful, it balances theory and practical well, helping me to get ready for both job and further studies, internships and projects give me hand hands on experience as well, exams are spaced out well, but they can be challenging the test. My understanding thoroughly, so we have to be prepared. More practical assessment might make things even better. They also use modern teaching methods and technology technology that makes classes more engaging. They also add more practical projects or industry connections that make the learning even more relevant.
The course and curriculum is well planned and explained and is as per the latest guidelines which keeps you updated, the frequency of exams are also well planned so everyone gets time to prepare as well as study material is provided
The teaching methods in the college is good. They always try to give more information related to course and job. They not only teach but also take us to visits and have a proper time table for practicals.

Definitely u will get placements
