I applied to only a few colleges including BPIT and VIPS. The course offered to me in BPIT did not align with the goals I want to achieve. Also, vips has multiple courses available, this making it great for extra curricular participation and interactions.
The course and curriculum is understandable and is usually taught greatly. But Some subjects can sometimes feel less important than the others. The practicals are great to teach real life applications. The exams have a high level and require hardwork to score good in.
There are some good internships available at VIPS-TC. Some companies include Frontrow, Accenture, Emo Matrix, Olar and more. There have been some collaboration opportunities like IITD summer camp which provide a good internship.
There are placements available in VIPS-TC. The average package is 4-5 LPA and the highest are around 14-15 LPA. The placements start around 7th semester along with opportunities for internships. I plan to pursue MBA along with a job.
The average fee for the students of Computer Science Engineering in the batch admitted in 2023 was Indian Rupees 152900 only for each year. I'm a student admitted through management quota and thus paid Rupees 25000 extra. The total fees for the whole course may be around 6 Lakhs. The SC/ST categories do get some concession on this fee. The maximum fee concession is around 50,000 rupees in an academic session. There is a DLF and Hana Scholarship also available whose details are on ipu.ac.in
The students at VIPS-TC are generally friendly. The seniors have been nice and have helped and aided me. The technological provisions are in good conditions with projectors in every class and well-functioning labs. The social Life is alright too.
The faculty to student ratio is alright. There is a single professor for a class of 60 students in engineering. The faculty is usually very cooperative and explains the topics greatly and are also very interactive with their sessions. Some faculty that have greatly guided me include professor nidhi sharma, professor sonal khurana and more.
Students are eligible for campus placements from 4th year or 6th semester, you need to clear your backlogs by 4th semester to get a chance to appear for campus placements. There is a career development cell which takes care for the placements. Till now only a few companies whose names are not disclosed to us have visited us but not a lot of students could clear their test, which makes is a worry for others. The first batch is yet to pass out so there is no clear picture of how much package is offered to students and the percentage of students getting placement. My plans after getting degree is to start my own tech startup with the knowledge I gained in college.
As I have already said earlier that course content is not very relevant and needs to be upgaraded along with the industry standards. I think more focus should be laid on Industry feel and appliction learning and theory must be left behind. I think exams should take place only 2 times rather than 3. Moroever , the marking scheme should also be changed.
Placements are Great at DTU. It has 24lpa average package for Computer Science Engineering branch , and lowest is around 10lpa for Biotech Engineering. Approximately 70-80% students get placed each year with Highest package of 1cr+ every year. This year, due to recession, it was approximately 82lpa. There were 2125 offers out of which 1700 students were placed out of 2500 students.
The curriculum combines theoretical knowledge with practical knowledge students typically study core engineering subject in the first two yearsfollowed by more specialization course in their chosen field
Onward 6 semesters students become eligible for campus placements and there will be big companies that visit our college such as Wipro Accenture genpact Infosys and the avg package will be 5 lakhs approx 90% students gets placed
The first year's content is completely irrelevant to computer science and from second year onwards you will start learning computer subjects The teaching should be done with new techniques and not just that old classroom kind teaching
