- It's has a huge campus to explore and has beautiful Greenery and places to bus sit and relax specially at night
- Inside campus there is no curfew timing both for male and female,so we can hang out whole night outside anywhere in the campus
- There are multiple society and culture events ti participate and show your interest and explore your talents
Dislikes
- There is a partial discrimination on basis of where you belong and way you look
- This college have a little depressing vibe because students don't get involved in activities to much and mostly focus of study and minding there own business
- There is a little academic load before of quiz, mid sem ,endsem, assignments,which give us a little less time to involve in other activities we like
Remarks :
I have chosen this college because it is the oldest IIT and have a large alumini network and reputation among all college. Before coming to this college I was thinking of choosing IIT Indore but due to my error while filling jossa counseling I landed in IIT Kharagpur. So admission in this college is on the basis of rank secured by aspirat in jee advanced exam which you appear after qualifying jee mains exam. it is considered one of the toughest examination of India around 12 lakh people appear and in which 2 lakh people qualify for jee advanced and in those 2 lakh aspirants only 16 thousand get selected for IIT's and for top IIT's you have secure rank under 10k. Admission to IIT's is done my jossa counseling.

Placement Experience :
Campus placement is offered by my college and companies come to my college from all over the world. From 7th semester students become eligible for campus placements. Most common and frequent companies are Schlumberger, reliance,tata etc they offer placement to 20-30 students every year.highest package offered was of 2.3crs and college average package lies between 15-20 lakh. around 80 percent students get placed every year. My plan after the completion of my BTech degree is to go for further studies by clearing CAT exam and applying for manegement course in IIM's and then getting placed in foreign or to get a reputed government job in India.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
It has tution fee of 1 lakh per semester and 33 thousand for both message and hostel fee (16500 per semester), for sc and st students there is no tution fee and for ews there are scholarship based on your family income, there is no scholarship offered by college but you can apply for scholarship of multiple companies like reliance, tata etc. fees for lab and development are included in tution fee itself soo you don't have to pay extra for anything else.Fees of all IIT's are same irrespective of ranking or location and it's fees is constant for many years neither increasing or decreasing as IIT's are run by central government soo it act as independent body and funding given by central government.this year it's has given a funding of 800 cr for campus development and management.
Campus Life :
Campus life at IIT Kharagpur is vibrant and diverse, offering students numerous opportunities to engage in social activities and club involvement. The campus hosts several annual and technical festivals, such as "Kshitij" (the techno-management fest held in January) and "Spring Fest" (the social and cultural festival held in January or February). The "Technology Students' Gymkhana" plays a central role in managing various student clubs, including societies for dramatics, debating, and entrepreneurship. The campus library is well-stocked, providing a wide range of books and journals that are easily accessible to students. Classrooms are equipped with modern technological facilities, supporting interactive learning. Students also have access to a wide range of sports and extracurricular activities, with facilities for swimming, athletics, and more.
Hostel Facilities :
For 1st year students they are provided hostel of triple sharing having all kind of facilities that a student may need including chair, bed,fan and dress wardrobe.evry weekend cleaning is done in the room by staff members block wise. 1st year students meal is little off the taste because they cook for around 1000 students in a single mess,but the menu is quite impressive including all the varieties of food being served and has a weekly chat for which food will serve when,we get breakfast then lunch then evening snacks and at last dinner. For registration of hostel and message is compulsary for all students and it is done through website portal of iit kharagpur. Mess fee is quite affordable and cheap as compared to what we are served on day to day basis. From 2nd year students will be shifted to another hostel where food quality increases and facilities increases.student may get single room also depending on which hostel they get.
Faculty :
Faculty at IIT Kharagpur - Most faculty members hold PhDs and have expertise in their fields. - Faculty are deeply involved in research, often collaborating globally. Course Structure - First Year: Foundation courses in science and basic engineering. - Second Year: Core courses in the chosen discipline. - Third and Fourth Years: Advanced courses, electives, and project work. Exam System & Marking Scheme - Continuous Evaluation: Involves quizzes, mid-semester exams, assignments, and lab work. - End-Semester Exams: Comprehensive exams at the end of each semester. - Grading: Based on the CGPA system, typically from 10 (highest) to 0.

Form 3 year that means from 5th semester students become eligible for the campus placement. Highest package in our college is 40 lakhs in Amazon and off campus placement package is around 60 lakhs.averge package in our college is 5 lakhs. Percentage of students getting placed is 70-80 percent. my plans after getting the degree is metch from iit or nit.

Here the approximately 30 to 40 students got placed through in camera.Zenser, Wns, Accenture ,Wings Elevators this are the top comapanies for top recruiters.The approximate pacakage in 11Lpa and the minimum package is 3Lpa.

you can do an internship mainly from 3rd year and you will get placement and companies come for recruitment in the last year of college. The highest package offered is 11.14 lakh and the lowest package is 3 lakh.30 to 40 percent of students are placed on campus and according to your skills, you can get placement throughout campus currently I am in 3rd sem my current plan is to study ac to the course and from this year mainly I have to focus on extra skills.ZNS, Geo tech Info Services Private Limited, WNS, Pinnacle, and many more companies are there.

The place here is good enough i would not say every one gets it but every one can get it and by that i mean if u have the talent u can have the job for yourself be it amazon microsoft or any maang companies.u would never feel like i am not elegible for this or for that every one has equal opportunities this year my senior secured an internship at Microsoft for 1.25 lacs per month.
