IEM promises high placement offers. I couldn't join a government college because of my inadequate JEE mains rank and not appearing in WBJEE. The admission process of my college is 3 ways, via IEMJEE, WBJEE and direct process.
Specific aspects such as gaining knowledge on both hardware and software influenced my decision to choose this course ECE. Exams are of moderate to difficult level. The curriculum is fair enough just ACs are needed to be installed in classrooms.
Infosys, IEDC, IEM labs mostly provide internship opportunities. Some online internship opportunities in Cloud and some international companies are also provided in summer and winter internship breaks.
From 7th semester, students become eligible for campus placement. 10-20 or more companies visit our college. Highest package is about 76 lacs and average package is about 4.5 lacs which isn't bad. 70% + students get placed as freshers.
?110000 was for the 1st semester including admission fee. ?85000 for the next 7 semesters per semester. Same fees is for my batchmates. Tuition fees, caution fees, registration fees, admission fees, development fees, lab fees and the other compulsory charges during the course completion is all included.
Innovacion, IEMPact, Smart Makers Festival, IEM Freedom Cup, Iem Féderation cup, Elevate, Gellers cup, Iem kabaddi league, IEM cricket Cup, and many other festivals occur in our college. Students gym khana and lions club are active along with other cultural groups.
The faculty-to-student ratio is 1: 20 perhaps. The faculty to student relationship is affable and the faculties are very approachable . The name of the faculties I liked was Jeet sir, Debojyoti sir and Ruchira ma'am. They are the best faculties. There are mid sems, assignments and endsem exam. The course curriculum is pretty relevant.
A written test IEMJEE was held for entrance in my college. Most students were placed in Electrical engineering or mechanical engineering and some in Electronics and Communication engineering via it. Very few were placed in IT, CSE and its allied courses.
While campus placements are one option, students also have alternative routes to employment after completing their course. Colleges negotiate with companies for placement dates, packages, and times. The placement process typically includes pre-placement talks, written tests, group discussions, and HR interviews. If campus placements aren't offered, or if a student isn't selected, they can explore other avenues like off-campus placements, internships, freelancing, recruitment agencies, government jobs, MOOCs, or further studies.
The placements have increased day by day in every engineering departments. As I have told the average salary in placements discussed go about 9-10 lacs and if necessary some students go for higher studies in other prestigioues colleges and universities in india and abroad..
50 to 60 per cent of students got placed with on-campus placement, in MNCs like TCS, Wipro, Capgemini, Amazon India, Tech Mahindra etc, final year students eligible for campus placement with 7.5 cgpa. The highest package is 10 LPA and avg package is 4.5 to 5 LPA approx.
The place here is good enough i would not say every one gets it but every one can get it and by that i mean if u have the talent u can have the job for yourself be it amazon microsoft or any maang companies.u would never feel like i am not elegible for this or for that every one has equal opportunities this year my senior secured an internship at Microsoft for 1.25 lacs per month.
As of this college infrastructure which is efficient for people sitting in the back but still this building is only used for some of the branches not all because those branches have their department building. Atmosphere is very pleasant and peaceful.
