The admission process was a long one first we gave the exams of cuet than are results got declared than we prepared a preference sheet where you had to rank the colleges which want I gave 6 rank to my college the cutoff was nearly 650 for my category the thing which i didn't like the lengthy process of admission
The course at itself is very intresting as it covers various interests from ancient India to international relations we study about various philosophers which were the reason I opted for this course The course also prepared us for the real world apprlications as it teaches us various political phenomenon which is useful in exams and debates The exams are conducted twice a year in semesters which is good
The college provides vast internship opportunities as there are clubs and societies which keeps you updated regarding upcoming internships one can work with companies like that of Amazon Deloitte and boat
I don't have much information about placements as our course rarely provide placement opportunities as people take this course to get eligible to entrance exams or to build a base for pg courses like law One can opt for exams and further studies after this course
The fee structure is one of the best thing about the college as the fees here is merely approx 15 thousand which is very less for a reputed college and they provide scholarships to ews students and to the people in need
The social clubs and activities are one of the best in the colleges as the college provides many societies like vedanta the debating society Annually a fest take place which goes on for 3 days in March where concerts are held exhibitions are done The library also has a great infrastructure and is fully ac one can find ample of books in the library. The sporting facilities are commendable as the campus has many courts and fields and their is team of every soorts
The faculty at arsd college is great as all the teachers and professors are well qualified and degree holder which one can identify with their personality. Majority of time they are approachable and they also provide study materials and PDFs you can interact with them online too Coming on to teaching methods some teachers use that traditional method of teaching which is impactful to some extent and I feel a lack of technological advancement in the way of teaching The student to teacher ratio is also decent
There are placement cell in our college that is really active but that also depends from course to course not all The courses have placements. But recently internship/research work/community outreach options have been given to us instead of SEC.
As my course is SOCIOLOGY HONOURS this course needs a lot of field work which is not properly conducted by the college and i think that should be changed but still because of the professors it becomes easy to make the most out of the disciplines that you are choosing.
Studying Philosophy at Kamala Nehru College is great for learning, but it doesn't lead to a job right after graduation. It's perfect for those who want to study further or pursue a career they're passionate about. Scope for improvement: - Help students explore career options - Provide internships for practical experience - Connect students with professionals in related fields
Kamala Nehru College, Delhi University, does not offer campus placements for Philosophy (Hons) students. However, the college provides strong employability support through workshops, internships, and career counseling. Many students pursue higher studies or careers in academia, research, publishing, or civil services. My plan after completing the degree is to pursue a master's in philosophy to deepen my knowledge and improve my career prospects. The college's emphasis on critical thinking and analytical skills equips us well for various professional paths.
