The 2020 CMAT Sesion was conducted on January 28, 2020, from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm across 104 cities. The Exam was on similar lines with that of the previous year. It was a single shift exam as against two shifts exam last year. There were 4 sections with 25 questions in each with the sections of GK, DI and VA being little to moderately difficult. A correct response of CMAT 2020 will fetch 4 marks each while a wrong one will draw in 1 negative mark.

Logical Reasoning:

The Logical Reasoning section was moderately doable and easier compared to the LR section of CMAT 2020. According to the test-takers, the section was more-or-less dominated by questions on Coding-decoding, Series, Relations. The other topics covered in this section included Visual Reasoning, Analogy, Directions, Syllogisms, Arrangement, etc. All the questions were in a single-form rather than being set-based questions. The questions were not lengthy and many questions were straight forward and moderately easier to solve.

Quantitative Technique and Data Interpretation:

Like the previous CMATs, it had the quality of Quant questions to be moderately difficult. The Data Interpretation & Quantitative Techniques section had 2 difficult questions along with 9 moderate questions, while the rest was easy. Students reported that the section had 13 easy questions from multiple topics like Percentage, Interest, Ratio, Time and work, which required the implementation of simple basic concepts. There were 2 questions in Data Interpretation but even, these too were without set-based structures.

Language Comprehension:

The section of Language Comprehension comprised of 15 Reading Comprehension questions and 10 Non-Rc questions. There were 4 paragraphs with 15 questions in-total. Three of the sections were short and contained 3 questions each and 1 of the passages was somewhat long and contained 6 tricky questions. Out of the 10 non-RC questions, 7-8 were of simple to-medium. Verbal Ability problems included Antonyms, Grammar-based questions, Odd one substitution, Jumbled sections.

General Awareness:

  • 12 questions among the lot were on Static GK whereas, 13 were on Current Affairs.
  • Around 16 questions were asked out of Indian events, 5 were on international ones and the remaining 4 were miscellaneous ones ranging from Recent Acts of Parliament, Appointments, Constitution of India.
  • About 10 questions were fairly easy, 10 were medium and 5 were a bit difficult.
  • An accuracy of almost 80% with nearly 13 to 15 attempts in this section would be a good attempt.
