How is CMAT Merit List Prepared?

How is CMAT Merit List Prepared?

CMAT Merit List allots rank to the candidates as per the marks obtained by them in CMATexam. The more marks obtained by the candidate; the better will be the rank.

      • The percentile score is calculated using the following formula:

      Percentile P = ((N - Rank of the candidate)/ N) x 100

(Where P is the percentile and N is the total number of candidates who appeared for the exam)

      • The Scores obtained have been calculated by assigning:
        • +4 marks for the correct answer
        • -1 mark for an incorrect answer
        • 0 mark for no answer

      CMAT 2023 Tiebreaker Criteria

In case, two or more candidates obtain the same marks, then CMAT 2023 has a tiebreaker criterion to decide which candidate has higher merit or rank. If two or more candidates get the same overall marks, then their sectional CMAT score will be taken into consideration, which is the tiebreaker. To imply tiebreaker criteria includes:

      • The order of preference given to sections is:

Quantitative Techniques & Data Interpretation > Logical Reasoning > Language Comprehension > General Awareness.

      • First, the scores in the section on Quantitative Techniques & Data Interpretation will be compared. Candidates with more marks in this section will be given a preference
      • If the marks in the section of Quantitative Techniques & Data Interpretation are equal, then the candidate scoring more in the logical reasoning section will be preferred over other candidates.
      • If the logical reasoning section marks are equal, then the scores of the language comprehension section will be compared. Candidates with more marks in this section will be given preference.
      • Again if the marks of candidates in the section of language comprehension are also the same, then marks in the general awareness section will be compared. Candidates with more marks in this section will be given preference.
      • Lastly, candidates that have lesser negative marks and are older in age will be given preference.
      • If still, they score equal marks, then the rank is defined as per their names arranged in alphabetical order.

Therefore it is important to have a good score in any one of the above-mentioned exams. Five specializations are available in the MMS program. Ans. There are two courses available in management studies  PGDM (fully autonomous)  MMS (autonomous affiliated to Mumbai university) The PGDM course requires a separate form to be filled out if you are applying through CAT/CMAT/XAT or other All India Entrance exams. PGDM course doesn't have any kind of reservation criteria but you need only an All India Level Entrance exam score to apply. The MMS course does not require you to fill out a separate form for applying through MHT-CET/CMAT/CAT because they are under DTE. One thing that you need to know is that this course is a Gujarati linguistic minority course where 51% of seats are reserved for Gujarati Speaking students  49 % don't have any caste-based quota, Out of the total intake in MMS 15% is reserved for All India Entrance exams like CAT, XAT, etc. Read more
